Byron fell silent for a bit.
"Because it's Cato," he said, looking at Athena. "At the end of the day, he is your biological father. Madam Stella didn't want to get you involved. By the time she realized the danger, I think... it was too late."
Athena's brow furrowed even tighter, and her eyes reddened.
"But even if she couldn't contact you in time, knowing the danger, she wouldn't just sit around. She must have left something that could take down Mr. and Mrs. Cato," Byron gently looked at Athena, trying to give her the greatest sense of security and comfort. "We can find it!"
Athena looked at him.
She forced a smile and nodded slightly.
Meanwhile...
After being circulated for half a day, the news conference Cato and Lien held in the morning finally stirred up some waves on the internet.
[I knew Rose wouldn't want to marry off the heir she cultivated so carefully to a notorious scoundrel like Byron! If I were in Rose's shoes, after spending so much money and effort on a lovestruck mind, I would cut ties and never have anything to do with her again!]
[I feel the same way. I might be more extreme. Not only would I cut ties, but I would also spend more money to hire a hitman. The person I nurtured, if they can't be used for me, they shouldn't be married off to scumbags to have children!]
[Come on, are some people really listening to this couple's sob stories and taking them seriously? Whether or not Rose likes Byron is another matter, but this couple hasn't admitted or denied the scandals exposed about them. They've just tried to muddle through with legal letters. So, I think the whole interview was them talking nonsense. Not a word of it is trustworthy!]
[I don't care who likes who, who dislikes who, who wants to cut ties with who, now it's just a whole state of happily watching the drama of the wealthy. Keep tearing each other apart! The uglier, the better!]
[Here comes more gossip. Chelsea took Byron to her dad's (or maybe her uncle's) funeral and caused a scene, dragging out a respected vice president of Stella Group. It's outright bullying. That's her uncle's funeral! Chelsea is outrageous. Don't insult Byron by calling him a tyrant. They are just two peas in a pod!]
Along with this came nine photos of the vice president being carried out by the arms and legs and thrown out of the funeral home.
The vice president looked embarrassed and pitiful, which made the stern-looking bodyguards seem especially fierce.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup
I am at Chapter 550 and there are almost 2 stories in 1. Aron and Evie's story could very well have been made into another story. Such a waste of time because I am reading for Byron and Athena, not Evie and Aron...
Is there no new updates after this one?...
