"Don't come any closer!" Sariel roared, pushing me away from his bed.
"You know, this is the only way!" I cried out.
"I know…" He turned his head away from me.
I could see how he tensely clenched his jaw. I could see him gritting his teeth and doing everything he could to hold back his overgrowing bloodlust, yet it was a battle he was bound to lose.
"The bookshelf… Look for Dante's Divine Comedy and pull the book out a bit…" He panted, pointing at the corner of his chamber.
I didn't know what he meant by that, but I walked over there and found the book. Once I pulled it out, the whole bookshelf moved, opening a secret room hidden behind it. I gasped and looked at Sariel, hoping for more instructions.
"Take the shackles…" he said faintly while stabbing his claws into the bed frame. "If I am to bite you, I need something to restrain my strength…"
I walked into the room. As I entered, the lights turned on. There was a wall-size shelf with peculiar-looking bottles with mixtures and strange substances on it. Standing right in front of me was a massive save, but what caught my attention was the wall on the left. There were all kinds of torture tools hanging there. Chills ran down my spine as I looked at them. Drills, knives, saws, and chains were certainly not what I expected to see in the room next to the bedchamber, but I had no time to dwell on it. There were shackles with massive, wide bangles hanging right in the middle. I grabbed them and ran out of the room. As soon as I was out, the door closed itself.
Sariel glanced at the shackles I brought and smiled bitterly, "Good… You brought the one with silver…"
"I didn't mean to!" I called out hectically, ready to go back inside to look for something else.
"No," he stated while clenching his teeth. He sat in the chair, pulling his hands behind the chair's back, "Put them on me. Do it quickly. I cannot hold myself back any longer."
I flinched, then stood behind him to put the shackles on his wrists. He hissed as the metal touched his skin. I gasped, unable to bear to cause him pain. I shivered. I was terrified. I knew he didn't want to hurt me, but neither he nor I knew what was going to happen when his bloodlust took control of him. I walked in front of him. I pushed back my hair with my trembling hands and exposed my neck. His eyes widened as his pupils glowed in crimson red. He slightly loosened up his clamped lips, letting his fangs grow.
I took a step forward, then sat on top of him, putting my arms around his shoulders. I looked deep into his lustful eyes and leaned over him, letting him reach the skin on my neck. A second later, his teeth pierced my flesh. I gasped. His bite was painful. I felt as if the skin around my neck was burning. A moan left my mouth as my eyes became wet with tears. Sariel fed on me, lustfully draining the blood out of my carotid. I couldn't breathe and instantly felt dizzy as my brain lacked oxygen.
"Stop…" I squeezed out softly, struggling to inhale air into my lungs.
I tried to push myself away from him, but I was losing my strength fast. A sudden thought came to my mind that I would die if he continued. I used all the power I had left to lean back away from him, forcing him to pull his fangs out. I looked at his skin. The blue lines were almost invisible. My blood neutralized most of the poison. I raised my head and met his gaze. He was looking at me with the most devouring stare I had yet to see. He was far from satisfying his bloodlust. He roared, tightening his arm muscles, then suddenly the shackles broke to pieces, releasing his hands. I gasped, and before I could escape, he put his arms around me, pulling me close to him again.
