My One-month Marriage With Mr. Hawkins novel Chapter 194

Ernest face darkened. He looked towards the two women dangerously.

Although it was his birthday party today, he only wished that everyone in City N would get to know Florence and learn about her identity, so he didn’t tell Florence that today was his birthday back then.

Therefore, Florence didn’t pay much attention to it and she was late just now.

Naturally, she would not prepare a birthday gift.

Ernest didn’t expect to receive a gift from Florence because he didn’t need it. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t allow others to embarrass or disgrace Florence.

He reached out and wrapped his arm around Florence’s waist and then pulled her into his arms.

His posture was overbearing, which indicated that Florence’s was the one he wanted to protect.

He gazed at the two women coldly and then glanced around the banquet hall, “Florence is the most valuable gift for me.”

His voice was sexy, low and charming and it fully showed his affection towards Florence, which made people feel touched.

All the women at the party screamed in low voice when they heard his words. They felt so jealous and wished so much that they could be Florence.

No one had expected that Mr. Hawkins, a prince charming who had always been superior, indifferent and unapproachable, would confess his affection to Florence in the public. His words were so touching.

When they heard the words, their hearts all thumped wildly.

Florence looked up, only to see Ernest’s handsome face. When looking into his unfathomable eyes that were like two vortexes, her heart instantly skipped one beat.

This man was damn charming.

Ernest’s words caused them to feel jealous. Although the two women felt reluctant to accept this, they didn’t dare to go hard with Florence.

Apparently, Ernest was protecting Florence – even a fool could perceive it.

Although they were unwilling to resign, they didn’t dare to challenge Ernest’s authority.

It was fine when they simply provoked dissension, but if they really antagonized Ernest, they would die miserably no matter how powerful their families were.

Florence slightly frowned when she saw their reluctant looks.

She felt touched when she saw Ernest standing out for her. Since Ernest could do this for her, she should do something for him too.

She didn’t want this woman to speak ill of her behind her back.

Florence looked up at Ernest and said in a voice that could be heard by everyone in the banquet hall, “Originally, I planned to give you the gift privately after the ending of the party. It might be a surprise. Now that they’ve brought up this topic, I’ll give it to you now.”

Florence opened her handbag and took out a gift box that was exquisitely packaged.

Ernest was a bit stunned when he saw the gift box.

He hadn’t expected that Florence would prepare a gift for him.

Florence felt a bit unease when her gaze met with Ernest’s burning gaze in the air. Her face flushed slightly. She then handed the gift to Ernest.

“It’s a pen. Although it’s not that valuable, I’ve found many stores and finally found one that could inscribe an image on the pen. I hope you will feel happy when you see the smiling face.”

It was not valuable, but it showed her care for him.

Ernest’s gaze became more affectionate and he said in a charming hoarse voice, “So you’re late because you went to buy the pen?”

Florence felt a bit awkward. She left the company when it was time to get off work and didn’t inform Ernest of that. If Phoebe didn’t remind her at that time, she still didn’t know that today was Ernest’s birthday.

She nodded gently, “Yeah.”

Ernest curled his lips into a charming smile.

He was in an unprecedented good mood now.

Florence also cared about him. Otherwise, why did she still go to several streets only to buy a pen for him even if she knew that she would be late?

Florence felt unease under Ernest’s gaze and her heart throbbed wildly like there was a rabbit in it.

“I like it as long as it’s sent by you.”
