The man was so badly beaten up that he begged for mercy, but it was useless. The brawny men didn't leave him alone until he was beaten half to death.
Hendrix watched coldly. The man on the ground struggled as he tried to get up. He tried several times, but still failed to do so. Hence, he could only wriggle like a maggot on the ground.
He was in such a bad state that I couldn't help but ask, "Hendrix, can we help him?"
Hendrix pursed his lips, not saying anything. Seeing that, I didn't say anything more. After all, we were at a casino, not somewhere else. It wasn't the time for me to be kind-hearted.
We were going to leave. However, the man blocked our way. Hendrix had no choice but to stop the car and looked at the man indifferently.
As we waited, the man seemed to have used up all his strength and lay on the ground. Hendrix narrowed his eyes and started the car. It was loud and strong, making me wonder if Hendrix would just run the person over.
Surprisingly, once the man heard the sound of the engine, he got up from the ground as if he had
been injected with some sort of resurrection liquid. Then, he lay on the front of the car with his bloody and bruised face. He grinned at Hendrix and said, "It's inappropriate to leave one to die, isn't it?"
I was taken aback. Did they know each other?
Hendrix looked at him without saying a word.
The man laughed and said, "Since both of you have seen what happened, please be magnanimous and send me to the hospital. My leg is broken; I can't walk."
It was the first time I met someone who could talk about life and death so calmly.
