Jordan said he would never waste time on things or people that did not matter. So why was he was trying to explain himself to me? Liar, liar.
It was a good thing, though. The more dishonest he was, the easier it was to cover things up.
"Fine, whatever. Balme me for overthinking. I thought..." I did not force him to admit it. Instead, I lowered my head and showed disappointment.
"Thought what?" Jordan instinctively asked.
"Nothing." I deliberately avoided his expectant eyes and pretended not to know about his feelings for me.
Jordan seemed embarrassed. A cold light flashed in his eyes. "Do you think I don't know what you're trying to do?"
"Do you know?" I knew he was giving me a warning, but I responded by acting even less seriously. I put my elbow on the table and rested my chin on my hand. "So what? The more you know what my motives are, the more you want to do things you shouldn't do, right?"
According to the rules of the game, even if Jordan knew I was doing everything to flirt with him, he could do nothing to stop me.
Falling in love with a person was like turning into a moth and flying into the flames. Despite knowing the dangers, one would still want to walk right into it.
Hearing this, Jordan narrowed his eyes, and his anger gradually subsided. After a while, a meaningful smile appeared on his lips.
However, before long, his face changed again. He suppressed his emotions and put on a cold face. "Interesting. You've shown me another side to you."
"Does this mean you're starting to take an interest in me?" I asked with a smile.
Jordan lowered his eyes and glanced at me indifferently, without saying anything, he placed the bowl and spoon on the table and walked out without looking back.
"You shouldn't stay standing for too long since you just got out of the hospital. Why don't you take a seat?" Mullen reminded me suddenly.
I took a deep breath to calm down, nodded slowly, and let her help me to the sofa in the living room.
After sitting down, I took out my mobile phone and tapped Jordan's name in the chat app. Then, I threw my phone over to Mullen.
"Tell him my schedule today. Remember to word it exactly the way I say it."
Mullen had no idea what was going on, but she did not ask any questions. She took the phone and did as she was told.
In less than a minute, she threw the phone back to me. "Done."
