Immediately, I saw that Tobias was typing. But a minute passed by, and I was still waiting for his reply.
It was as if we both had fallen into a silent game where he couldn't wait, and I didn't want to give in. No one wanted the other party to take advantage of them.
In the end, I was worried that I would miss details on Hendrix's trip, so I hurriedly sent another message. "I won't let you wait too long."
Tobias readily agreed to it. "Couldn't be better than this."
Looking at this hypocritical statement, I suddenly felt a burst of sadness in my heart. With everything in our hands, must we lose our human touch too?
Tobias might have his considerations, but I was glad we were not close.
Humans must still have their human touch.
The next day.
At half-past eight in the morning, I drove to the entrance of Grand Nonagon Villa Area.
Hendrix's car appeared 15 minutes later. When he drove out of the neighborhood, I quickly stepped on the accelerator and cut off his car.
Without waiting for Hendrix to react, I got out of the car and pulled open the door to his passenger seat. I simply got in and sat down. Then I began to fasten my seat belt.
"What are you doing here? Get out of the car!" Hendrix ordered me.
"I'm going to do what you're doing today. Just drive. I won't get you into trouble." I held my seat belt tightly and leaned back on the chair calmly. I had no intention of getting out of the car.
Hendrix frowned and went to unbuckle his seat belt. Knowing that he wanted me to get down, I said, "It's going to be nine soon. Time waits for no man, and soon your opportunity will pass by. It won't be easy to find the same opportunity again. Are you sure you want to waste your time with me?"
From how she addressed herself as Drug Wolf, one could tell what sort of a badass she was. Hendrix might not get another chance if he was late to their first meeting.
Hendrix rolled his eyes at me, but in the end, he gave up. "Stay in the car and don't run around."
I shrugged. I didn't say yes or no as to what I would do was depending on the situation.
Hendrix had no time to chat. He stepped on the accelerator and sped away.
Less than five minutes after Hendrix went upstairs, I was discovered by the patrolling bodyguards. They forced me to get out of the car and took me to the unfinished building opposite.
On the second floor, I saw the so-called Drug Wolf that Tobias had mentioned.
Just as he said, she was indeed a beautiful woman, but she looked as old as me. She was no longer exceedingly beautiful.
Drug Wolf was dressed in a simple white suit, looking capable and steady. She sat opposite Hendrix with a faint smile on her face. If it weren't for the atmosphere of the ruined building I was in, at first glance, it would just be an ordinary business meeting among partners.
The bodyguard walked over step by step with me, and the face of Drug Wolf became clearer. The more I looked at her, the more I felt she was familiar.
Hendrix noticed that I had been caught. He stood up and explained, "Miss Sherwood, she doesn't know a thing about our deal. This is just a misunderstanding."
It was her! Emily Sherwood, the youngest female president of Sherwood Pharma.
I was shocked that a big pharmacy corporation's president was doing a drug deal behind closed doors.
