My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 351

She smiled. "That's quite alright!" Her face lightened up as she said, "My child, you just have to tell me, do you have any feelings for Hendrix?"

"Mrs. Roberts, you don't have to beat around the bush. Everything was a choice made after weighing the pros and cons, wasn't it?"

She sneered and felt that I had been too honest with my words. She said, "You two had no feelings for each other but stayed because of the child. I think that you and Irvin are on good terms. If you don't have feelings for Hendrix, it's best to divorce him!"

Haha!

This was the first time I heard someone urging another to get a divorce.

"Did Hendrix agree to this?" Hendrix went to the Granger Family yesterday, and it seemed that Nerissa had plans concocted.

She frowned, "If you don't have feelings for each other, it's best to separate."

I nodded. From the perspective of an elder, it was true that Irvin and I had been close these past few days. I was separated from Hendrix and had even started to hate him.

It did seem that the best way to deal with this matter was to get a divorce.

But Nerissa was not an unreasonable person. She would not persuade me to divorce Hendrix because of this.

Unless she had other reasons.

Looking at her, I couldn't help but comment, "Mrs. Roberts, if you want to persuade us to divorce just because I'm in conflict with Hendrix, I think that this isn't something a respectable elder should do. You might as well tell me the real reason behind all this urging. I've already said that everything was a calculated decision."

"Arianna, you're right. Everyone had made their own calculated decision. I am no different. There's nothing going on between you and Hendrix, and you don't even have feelings for each other. So, what I'm doing now is giving you a way out."

I nodded and decided that she was indeed right in what she said. But I was just not happy about things.

I looked at the phone on the desk and said to the ongoing call, "Did you hear that? If you agree, then we can set aside time to get the divorce certificate."

Nerissa probably didn't expect me to call Hendrix and let him tune in to our conversation.

Because all of a sudden, her face turned pale, and she looked at me with so much displeasure on her face.

Hendrix, who was on the other end of the line, wasn't in a jolly mood either. He said in a low voice, "Arianna, our marriage is our business. Whether I have feelings for you is not anyone's business but mine. They don't have the right to comment on it. You should know this better than I do."
