Hendrix's voice was a little low and I couldn't sense any emotions behind it. "Have you arrived?"
I responded with a sound of agreement. Noticing that Irvin's gaze was on me, I spoke with the phone closer to me, "I just landed. Heading to a restaurant for lunch now."
"Great. I've found a housekeeper for the home. When you're done with your work, please head back earlier. Don't stay out too late at night." Why did I feel like Hendrix was getting a little long-winded?
I nodded slightly and hung up the phone.
Irvin looked at me and pursed his thin lips. "Does Hendrix seem to be worried about what I'll do?"
I shrugged my shoulders. That was obvious, needless for me to say.
Seeing that, he smiled faintly and did not take it to heart. "After we're done with our work tonight, you can take a rest for a few days at Ucrebury before heading back. I know that you're more comfortable here as you've stayed here longer before."
I nodded. I realized that we've reached the restaurant. I got down the car and entered the restaurant with Irvin.
I didn't sleep well the previous night so I felt a little drowsy. I only had a few bites before I lost my appetite.
I placed my hand up to hold my chin while waiting for Irvin.
"B*tch, when is it your business to care about mine?" The voice was loud. It penetrated the silence in the restaurant. Most of the customers turned their heads to the direction of the voice.
Irvin and I followed the direction of the voice and saw a man throwing a dish of hot steaming food at a woman.
A waiter went up to them. I wasn't able to really see how they looked. I could only vaguely make out that the woman had been hit badly by the man.
I couldn't help but to frown seeing the scene in front of me. This must be domestic violence, right? Was anyone going to stop the man?
The argument between the man and the woman escalated. Irvin took a few more bites and probably lost his appetite to continue eating as well. He looked at me and then said, "Let's go. We'll take a rest for a while then head to Fantasia at two in the afternoon later."
