As soon as Irvin left, Hendrix looked at me coldly. The anger on his face was obvious.
Well, this matter was my fault after all.
"Uhm that... Irvin drank too much!" I spoke, feeling guilty.
Hendrix pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes. "So?"
I was surprised. What did he mean by "So"?
Was I supposed to give him another reason?
I said after some contemplation, "I did not do anything with him. He was drunk. I saw Kelsey Parker at the restaurant. She looked pretty bad. Was it your doing?"
He frowned. He spoke with anger in his voice, "Arianna, you're changing the subject!"
I...
Yeah, I was.
Looking at him, I pursed my lips and decided not to speak anymore. I stared him into the eyes with my lips tightly closed, not speaking.
Hendrix grew angrier. "You're not even going to try and explain yourself?"
I pursed my lips. "I've already explained myself, but you wouldn't listen!"
"You..." His anger rendered him speechless. He looked cute with his expression.
I paused then said, "How about this? Since you hit and punched Irvin just now, why don't you do the same to me so you can vent your anger?"
Other than that, I couldn't think of what other alternative he wanted.
He didn't know whether he wanted to laugh or cry upon hearing my suggestion. He replied coldly, "Not only that, but I feel like throttling you to death!"
Giving me a lethal cold look, he turned around and walked away.
This was a main street where there was quite a crowd. I'm pretty sure that some stranger had filmed or took a photo of what went on just now and uploaded it onto the Internet. Things were probably going to get out of hand soon.
I scurried to follow him. He got into the car, still fuming. I reached out my hand to pull the passenger car door but it wouldn't budge.
His car was a little tall that I had to tiptoe in order to get a good look at him sitting in the car. "Hendrix Roberts, what are you trying to do?¹ "You can walk back yourself!" Saying that, he drove off.
I was stunned for a long while that I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on.
Was he for real?
