Having known Hendrix for so many years, I was clearer than anyone else that if he wanted to stay, whatever I did to refute that was useless.
I simply closed my eyes and immediately fell asleep.
I didn't sleep well that night. Due to the fact that Anne had gone missing, I woke up in the middle of the night a few times. Thankfully, Hendrix was by my side. Every time I woke up, he would pat me on the back to comfort me.
I was already wide awake at six o'clock in the morning. I lifted my eyes to see that the sky was still dark outside the hotel. I really couldn't fall back asleep.
Right next to me, Hendrix maintained his position as he continued to hug me. After some hesitation, I moved my body.
Despite moving very lightly, I still woke him up. Our eyes made contact. His eyes were still halflidded, and it seemed that he hadn't completely woken up yet.
"What's wrong?" He asked in a hoarse voice.
I pursed my lips, got up, and said, "I..." He probably also noticed the time clearly. Noticing that it was still early, he reached out to hold me in his arms, saying, "It's still early."
I was unable to move as he held me. I reached out for the phone on the headboard.
However, he held down my hand and said, "Go to sleep."
I pursed my lips, saying, "I can't sleep!"
He opened his eyes, and they were as dark as the night. He said in a low and hoarse voice, "Why don't we do something?"
I was stunned and stopped talking.
I tried to avoid him, but Hendrix seemed to deliberately get closer to me.
As we completely embraced each other in the dark of night, we couldn't see each other clearly. However, the more it was so, the more the atmosphere made me lose myself in my imagination.
The sky gradually lit up, its darkness fading into the horizon.
Sleepiness and weariness came to me at the same time. I wanted to sleep, but as usual, I couldn't sleep.
He laid down beside me and said in an alluring
I nodded. Wrapping myself in a bath towel, I got out of bed and went for a quick shower. As I recalled what befell Anne, I put on the clothes that I had cleaned and had dried overnight from the day before.
When I exited the bathroom, I saw that Hendrix had already changed his clothes. They weren't from the day before so obviously someone had delivered them to him.
Seeing me come out, he raised his eyes and handed me a brown bag from the side, saying, "There's fresh clothing here!"
I shook my head and said, "I've already changed, so it's okay." My clothes were already washed after all, so I didn't want to go through the hassle.
I found my phone and called Josiah directly. He picked up not long after.
He greeted me, "Arianna!" Judging from his voice, he hadn't slept the entire night either.
I restrained my emotions and said, "Let's meet at the lobby of Victoria Hotel after half an hour."
"Alright!"
After hanging up, Hendrix looked at me with a deep gaze. He didn't say anything, so I subconsciously asked out loud, "What's wrong?"
