My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 814

As Josiah's face turned pale, the waiter served us coffee and desserts.

He took a deep breath and pushed the dessert towards me. He lowered his voice and said, "Arianna, this is my fault, but what's most important now is to find Anne."

I pursed my lips and looked at him, waiting for him to continue speaking.

"I've checked the surveillance cameras around the Saunders family compound and the cameras on the roads, but there's still no trace of her whereabouts."

At that point, he fixed his gaze on me in a solemn manner, he added, "Arianna, do you have any enemies?"

I frowned, slightly stunned. I looked at him and said, "Do you think that someone is holding a grudge against me, so they took Anne away?"

He pursed his lips and said, "The Saunders family doesn't know much about Anne so our enemies wouldn't know of her existence so quickly either."

I sneered. Looking at him, I couldn't help but feel amused. I said, "Josiah, I've always thought that your IQ wasn't too bad, but now it seems to me that it's a bit lacking. Firstly, if it's because of me that Anne was kidnapped, why didn't they strike during my four-year stay in Hovell, instead coming all the way to such a highly guarded area like the Saunders family compound?"

"Also, you say that there aren't many people who knew about Anne's identity. Let me ask you, do all the twenty-something members of the Saunders family know about her identity?"

He frowned and then nodded.

"So, you think that each of the twenty- plus members of your family harbor no ill intentions towards Anne? Can you guarantee that all of them have accepted Anne? I come from a small family, so I don't know what possible conflicts there may be in your big household. However, for you to ignore a family business as large as the Saunders family and instead choose to follow Hendrix, you should know the reasons behind that decision clearly."

What happened to Anne was too sudden. There weren't any surveillance footage nor witnesses, hence we had no clue on what had gone down exactly.

Although these words were spoken due to Josiah provoking me, it didn't mean that the people of the Saunders family didn't have any ulterior motives.

Seeing Josiah becoming deeper in thought, it seemed that he had more or less made some speculations in his heart.

After a pause, he looked at me and said, "I will definitely find Anne."
