My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 824

I pursed my lips and thought that Hendrix was really smart. That driver was unreliable as I had thought that he would at least help me call the police.

I sighed. Strangers could not be trusted after all.

Aaron looked at me with a strange look in his eyes. "Aren't you going to ask how Hendrix is doing?" he asked.

How should I put it?

Hendrix bore most of the brunt from the sulfuric acid for me. He wouldn't be any better than I was. It was just that I had no idea how to ask Aaron about his condition.

Looking up at Aaron, I asked, "Aaron, am I selfish?"

He frowned and said in a low voice, "He has planned this for a long time. It's not your fault. You couldn't have predicted this. You holding a grudge against Hendrix is understandable. However, Arianna, we can't deny that he has done his best for you."

That was right. He had already done his best. He was a human being, not a god. He wouldn't have expected Josiah would still have such hatred buried deep within him, nor would he have expected that after so many years, he would prepare such a big trap for us.

However, the fact remained that everything had happened because of him.

Seeing me frown, Aaron sighed slightly, mostly out of resignation. He said, "Arianna, if you can't let go of most things, the path ahead of you will only be even more tiring."

I looked up at him and asked, "What about you? Can you let go of Yana's identity and live properly with her?"

He fell silent and slightly frowned. "We're talking about you right now," he replied.

I nodded and said, "You're right, we're indeed talking about me. It's just that I've changed the way I'm conversing with you. Actually, there are a lot of things which if they don't happen to ourselves, we'll feel that it's okay and that the culprit deserves to be forgiven. However, once those things happen to us, our attitude will be different."

He pursed his lips, probably feeling that I was being mean about the matter, so he chose to be silent.
