After I grew up, there were no shooting stars in the bustling city of Ucrebury. There were only fireworks that were brighter and more dazzling than shooting stars. They were all transient, fleeting and sad, making me no longer want to make a wish.
At the moment, I was incredibly sincere, hoping that Hendrix and I could have a child.
A warm feeling enveloped my body. Hendrix was embracing me. With his arms around me, his voice was low and reserved as he whispered in my ear, "Arianna, I owe you a wedding."
Hearing that, I couldn't help but smile. I raised my head and looked at him. The beautiful fireworks made his face look particularly handsome.
"Hendrix, I don't want a wedding. I only need you by my side."
He hugged me and planted a gentle kiss on my forehead, "Then, it's a deal. Neither of us is allowed to leave each other."
It was only after many years that I finally realized that some regrets would forever be buried in one's heart.
The fireworks in Jarold City lit up the dark sky, accompanied by snow throughout the night.
Hendrix had not fully recovered from his injuries yet, so he could not stay outside in the cold for too long. However, he held on because he wanted to let me watch fireworks for a longer time.
I was worried about him and helped him back to the bedroom. Then, I looked at him and said, "I can also watch the fireworks on the balcony. Go take a bath."
Hearing that, he smiled slightly, raised his hand and brushed the end of my nose before walking into the bathroom.
I loved fireworks, and even if they were fleeting and transient, I still liked them unconditionally.
My phone vibrated for a long while with a call from an unfamiliar number. After hesitating for a moment, I still picked it up.
No one spoke on the other end of the line, and it seemed that the person had intentionally chosen to remain silent. I instantly frowned, preparing to hang up on the call.
Unexpectedly, someone at the other end of the line said, "Happy New Year!"
