My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 855

I couldn't rebuke Hendrix's words, so I kept silent. Looking up at him, I asked, "Are we going to take it to go or eat here?"

He looked around. It was obvious that he disliked such crowded places, but he still said, "Go and look for a seat."

All I just needed to do was to do what he had said. I found a seat by the window and took a few bites of the burger. With my chin resting on the palm of my hand, I didn't make a sound as I looked at the bustling crowd outside the window.

He looked at me and asked with raised eyebrows, "What are you thinking about?"

I looked back at him and asked, "Why did you suddenly bring me here to eat a burger?"

He lifted his eyebrows, "It's because you like it!"

Oh?

What did he mean by that?

It was not the weekend that day. Most of the people in the mall were young lovers who were shopping on their off-days.

There was a H&M shop downstairs, and it was bustling with young people. I said, "Monique used to say that if we had boyfriends in the future, we must drag them to shop with us. We would ask our boyfriends to buy us a few more bags and go to H&M to try on a few more sets of clothes."

Hendrix glanced at the shop downstairs and asked with slightly raised eyebrows, "Are the clothes there expensive?"

I shook my head, "Not really. They only cost a few hundred dollars. You can even buy some of them for around fifty dollars when they are on sale."

He was a little perplexed, "Then..."

I looked at him and felt that he didn't know much about the lives of ordinary people.

I spoke, "When I was in college, I only had eight hundred dollars to spend per month, and there was not much left after deducting my meal expenses. We girls always care about our looks, and we always want to buy good-looking clothes and cosmetics. Sometimes, after saving for a few months, a set of cosmetics will make that money disappear in no time."

He nodded, looked at the store downstairs and asked, "Do you still like them now?"

I looked at him and said in a solemn manner, "Do you still like the Ultraman cards you liked to play with when you were five?"

He thought about it seriously and said, "I didn't

play with those at all."

Fine!

Perhaps our childhoods were different.

A slightly surprised female voice rang out from behind me,"Mr. Roberts, you're here as well?"
