My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 860

I frowned and looked up at Irvin, "There is nothing we can talk about."

He sneered and self-mockingly said, "So, have I already made you hate me so much?"

I pursed my lips, refusing to explain myself.

"Hendrix has bought most of the Granger's Group, and the court is investigating me. I am just waiting to be sentenced. Are you satisfied?"

He smiled and said those words without a sliver of hurt, almost as if he was talking about someone else.

I pursed my lips and said, "Let's sit down."

We went to the lounge area outside the hospital building.

The April wind was quite gentle. It was not neither too cold nor too hot, and after a moment of silence, I looked at him.

When I saw that he too had been looking at me, I couldn't help but smile, "Do you regret saving me back then?"

He was stunned for a moment, but he then smiled, "Never!"

I looked down and smiled in relief, "At first, I didn't understand why Hendrix had suddenly clamped down on and wiped out the Granger Group. He didn't let me contact you, let alone seek any information about you. Every time I mentioned your name, he would break down and even begin to lose his temper around me."

"He was my child, though. I let him get hurt. How could you blame him?" I put a hand on my chest as I struggled to catch my breath.

He looked at me icily and said, "I told Hendrix so that he would let you go. Arianna, I don't need children. If you like children, get Shirley to give birth to them. I'll give her enough money to go back to Mesville as soon as she births them and you can raise the children as your own. They'll be the same as Anne, who is also your child, isn't that right?"

I looked at his somewhat feral face and felt a twinge of horror. Since when did he become such an extremist?

He knew that I couldn't get pregnant and couldn't carry children anymore, so he would force Shirley to have the baby and then send her away. Then, he would chain me to his side, and he would have both the children and I.

I couldn't help but feel that he was terrifying. I said, "Irvin, don't you think you're being too selfish? Shirley loves you more than you think. If you unscrupulously hurt her like this, you will never meet anyone who will love you as much as she does."
