I frowned and looked up at Irvin, "There is nothing we can talk about."
He sneered and self-mockingly said, "So, have I already made you hate me so much?"
I pursed my lips, refusing to explain myself.
"Hendrix has bought most of the Granger's Group, and the court is investigating me. I am just waiting to be sentenced. Are you satisfied?"
He smiled and said those words without a sliver of hurt, almost as if he was talking about someone else.
I pursed my lips and said, "Let's sit down."
We went to the lounge area outside the hospital building.
The April wind was quite gentle. It was not neither too cold nor too hot, and after a moment of silence, I looked at him.
When I saw that he too had been looking at me, I couldn't help but smile, "Do you regret saving me back then?"
He was stunned for a moment, but he then smiled, "Never!"
I looked down and smiled in relief, "At first, I didn't understand why Hendrix had suddenly clamped down on and wiped out the Granger Group. He didn't let me contact you, let alone seek any information about you. Every time I mentioned your name, he would break down and even begin to lose his temper around me."
