Chapter 479
Who was Kenneth? He was an indifferent of formidable power, a prominent aristocrat who could command the world with a wave of his hand. But now, he had climbed a tree to get her a bird's nest. He had lost a show, but he still had the humblest attitude when gingerly and ingratiatingly asking her to stay.
He had abandoned all his pride.
Arabella slowly clenched her hands that were hanging by her sides. She kept reminding herself to stay sober because Kenneth was still waiting for her to save him.
"Bella, what's wrong? Don't you like this?"
Arabella nodded and replied, "Yep, I don't like this. I don't like this at all. It was just a joke. But why do you take everything so seriously?"
With that, Arabella reached out and directly knocked the bird's nest out of his hands.
The nest quickly fell to the ground.
Kenneth froze and pressed his lips into a straight line until they got pale. A hint of disappointment gradually crept onto his handsome face.
The atmosphere between the two plummeted to a freezing point.
Arabella thought she couldn't stay here any longer because she was afraid that she would soften her heart. She turned around and headed outside.
But Kenneth reached out his well-defined hand and firmly grasped her delicate wrist, asking, "Bella, where are you going?"
Arabella didn't turn around. She held back the tears in her eyes, not wanting them to fall, and replied, "Mr. Lucero, we've agreed on it. Everything is over and it would be a disgrace for you to pester me after all this."
