Chapter 227 Celeste’s Fury

Rex was immediately displeased. “Hey, you little brat, you’re a student at a prestigious university, and you’re this greedy?”
Without a word, Celeste pulled out her limited–edition designer wallet, grabbed ten bills, and slapped them onto Rex’s hand. “You d’mn gigolo! If you dare harass Charmaine again, I’ll have someone deal with you!”
She shot him a cold glare and walked away with confidence.
Rex stood there while gripping the thousand bucks. He was stunned. When he finally snapped out of it, he yanked off his sunglasses, revealing his handsome but now furious face. “D–d*mn gigolo?”
That brat! She better hope I never cross paths with her again–because if I do, I’ll make sure she pays for that insult!
Celeste stormed out of the school gates, still fuming, only to see Dominic’s car parked right outside, waiting.
He waved her over, and she climbed in, slamming the door shut with a loud bang.
Dominic half–jokingly tried to cheer her up. “Who’s the idiot that dared to piss off my precious daughter?”
Still seething, Celeste huffed, “Ran into a d*mn pervert–he’s got his eyes on Charmaine!”
At that, Dominic’s smile instantly disappeared. His face hardened, and without hesitation, he unbuckled his seatbelt, ready to get out. “Who’s the bastard? I’ll go teach him a lesson.”
Celeste had clearly inherited her fiery temper from Dominic–when they decided to act, they didn’t -hesitate.
She quickly pulled him back. “Relax! I already dealt with it. Speaking of which, what brings you here to pick me up? Isn’t the project keeping you busy?”
Ever since the bidding event ended, Dominic had been running back and forth between the company and the construction sites. He was barely ever home. Celeste could hardly remember the last time she saw him.
Dominic settled back into his seat and grinned. “What, can’t a dad miss his daughter?”
Celeste wasn’t buying it.
She wasn’t a kid anymore–sweet talk like that didn’t work on her.
Dominic chuckled and confessed, “Fine, fine. It’s about the diplomatic summit. I was at Ydris Group this afternoon, meeting with Mr. Chapman. When I heard he was sending a car to Eragos University, I mentioned that you were here too, so I figured I’d tag along and pick you up.”
It was only after the bidding ended that Dominic learned winning the contract hadn’t been pure luck. Ydris Group had voluntarily helped fund the South City project, saving the government a substantial amount of money. Because of Rex’s connections, Dominic’s company had been the ‘lucky‘ ones to land the major
contract.
After realizing this, Dominic made it a point to visit Ydris Group and thank Rex. To his surprise, Rex had treated him with unexpected courtesy and even pointed out some hidden flaws in the construction pl From that moment on, Dominic had nothing but admiration for the man. Whenever he had the chance, he

Hearing this, Celeste craned her neck to look outside. “Wait, Ydris Group’s CEO? Did he come inside? How come I didn’t see him?”
She was full of curiosity about this so–called business genius her father constantly praised. She wanted to see for herself what kind of person he was.
Dominic gave her a knowing smile. “A big shot like Mr. Chapman stands out wherever he goes. He probably had something important to do, so he went in disguise. You wouldn’t recognize him unless you were looking closely.”
Disguised?
For some reason, an image flashed through Celeste’s mind–the flashy gigolo who had stopped her earlier.
Her expression stiffened as goosebumps crept up her arms.
No way.
How could I possibly link the benefactor of my family with a gigolo?
That would be an insult to Mr. Chapman!
Dominic noticed her strange expression and patted her head affectionately. “What’s wrong now? Don’t worry, I know you love gossip. Next time, I’ll introduce you to Mr. Chapman. Maybe we’ll bring Charmaine too; after all, they’ve both helped our family a lot.”
