Chapter 246 Why Can’t She Just Disappear

Leah had stopped pretending long ago, and now, with no facade left, she openly embraced her true nature.
“So what if it’s me?” she sneered. “If anyone’s at fault, it’s Celeste for being so careless and showing off all the time. If she hadn’t, I wouldn’t have had such a perfect chance to take her place.”
A wicked grin spread across her face as she continued, “Too bad Celeste is locked away right now. Otherwise, I would love for her to see me take her spot step by step–sitting at that ten–million–dollar white piano, performing, and getting all the praise from the powerful people and influential figures.”
No longer hiding behind a mask, Leah’s posture was smug and triumphant. Her eyes glinted with greed and desire, her true emotions laid bare for Charmaine to witness.
Charmaine, however, simply smiled.
After everything she had endured in her past lives, she had finally seen Leah for who she truly was.
And as revolting as she had imagined, Leah’s true face was just as vile.
Leah’s voice dropped to a menacing tone. “Charmaine, don’t think you can be the hero for Celeste. This isn’t some small event where you can make a name for yourself. There are so many people outside, and if you try to mess with me, you won’t be able to get away!”
Charmaine’s smile turned dark and mocking. Without hesitation, she reached out, her movements swift and precise, and twisted Leah’s wrist with ease.
Before Leah could scream, there was a sharp crack as Charmaine snapped her wrist. Her eyes widened in terror, unable to look away from the grotesque angle of her broken right hand.
“Ah!” The sound of the bone breaking echoed throughout the room.
Charmaine shoved Leah with force, sending her crashing into a nearby display of congratulatory flowers, her body crumpling into the mess of petals on the floor.
Leah clutched her throbbing hand, sobbing uncontrollably from the excruciating pain.
“Charmaine! My hand!” she cried out, her voice a mixture of shock and agony.
“You actually broke my hand!! You’ve ruined my performance! I won’t let you get away with this!” Leah’s voice grew frantic, her anger boiling over as she looked up at Charmaine standing above her, calm and indifferent.
“You think Mr. Emyr will save you? Mom, Dad, Jonah, and everyone else saw you lock me in that room. You ruined my day, and now I’ll make sure you’re gone from Eragos for good.”
Leah’s eyes burned with rage, her body writhing in pain, but Charmaine stood unmoving, watching her every agonized movement with a quiet, relentless gaze.
Charmaine’s voice was a low, sneering whisper. “I told you already–there are no cameras here. Do you have any proof that I broke your hand?
“And you really think people will care about the gossip surrounding your broken hand, or the truth about Milo and his car accident?”

Leah froze, her body going rigid with realization. Charmaine’s unyielding gaze made her feel like a trapped animal, her fate now hanging in Charmaine’s hands.
Seeing the terror in Leah’s eyes, Charmaine’s lips curled into an even more mocking grin.
Just then, loud knocking echoed from the door–someone was trying to get in!
Leah’s mind raced, but she forced herself to remain calm, trying to regain control of the situation.
Ha! Charmaine, you think you can frame me? I’m not stupid. I won’t fall for your tricks again!
She thought back to the last time Charmaine had outsmarted her with fake surveillance footage to steal the Reads‘ shares. She believed Charmaine was doing the same thing now. If Charmaine really had evidence, why hadn’t she used it already?
Charmaine’s smirk deepened, and she saw right through Leah’s thoughts.
