“How dare they have the son of the Nelsons assist a doctor! How dare they do this?!” Olympia exclaimed in frustration.
“I’ll call Mr. Zimmer,” she started, but Leah quickly stopped her.
“Mom, please don’t. This has nothing to do with Mr. Zimmer. Don’t ruin things between you two!” Leah pleaded, her voice soft with tears still in her eyes. “Zayn insisted on this. He was determined to go and work with Dr. Robin on his own.”
Leah sniffled, her voice trembling as she continued, “Zayn admires Dr. Robin so much. Finally, he has the chance to be close to Dr. Robin. He wants to get even closer to her. I understand him. I really do.
“Ever since Zayn joined the team, he’s been so focused on Dr. Robin. I remember when Dr. Robin first came to the hospital, some patients misunderstood her. Zayn wanted to help, but he has no training in combat. His hands are meant for writing and conducting experiments. Yet, he was willing to risk everything for Dr.
Robin.”
Leah’s shoulders shook with sorrow as she spoke, barely holding back her tears.
“There was even one time during a group session. Zayn sat right next to Dr. Robin, and they had such a good conversation. It was the first time I’d seen Zayn so engaged with a girl. Even after Dr. Robin left, Zayn just stared at her, not moving a muscle. He really likes Dr. Robin,” Leah said, her voice breaking.
As she spoke, her tears flowed freely. She couldn’t help but cover her face with her hands as she sobbed. “Zayn chose to follow Dr. Robin, and I don’t blame him. I just … I’m sad that he chose Dr. Robin over me.”
Olympia’s expression shifted from shock to anger as she listened.
Her daughter was pure–hearted, kind by nature. Leah’s words seemed innocent enough–Zayn’s affection for Robin was based on admiration.
But Olympia saw it differently.
If it were simply admiration, with his pride and sense of self, Zayn would never have gone this far.
The fact that he had done this meant one thing: Zayn had developed a deep compassion for Robin.
Once a man develops feelings for a woman, especially feelings that go beyond simple admiration, he will fall head over heels for her.
Olympia never imagined Zayn, so dedicated to his medical studies, would fall for Dr. Robin.
She was brilliant and successful, but her background was unknown. How could Zayn–her young, accomplished son–be attracted to someone so mysterious, especially a doctor whose parents‘ history was
unclear?
Even if that woman was a student of Basil, it was unacceptable for Olympia.
Even though she had met Robin briefly when they discussed Leah’s medical condition, Olympia had only admiration for Robin’s medical expertise at the time.
But now, as a mother, she could not allow a proud, aloof woman like Robin to be involved with her son.

firm voice, “I’ll handle this.”

Leah’s eyes widened in shock. “Mom? No, please. Last time, I already let Zayn down. I can’t make him hate me more.” Leah’s voice faltered as she pleaded, “Please, don’t tell Zayn about this.”
Her humble pleading showed how much she valued her sibling bond with Zayn.
Olympia, seeing her daughter so distressed, became even angrier at Zayn’s actions.
His younger sister was in tears, and yet he was focused on chasing after romance, even acting as a servant to a woman?
The Nelsons‘ bloodline would never tolerate such disgraceful behavior.
“Don’t worry, sweatheart. I won’t tell Zayn,” Olympia said, her tone softening, but a glint of determination gleamed in her eyes.
In the past, Charmaine had only given Zayn advice over email; she had never worked directly with him.
