Madeline glanced at Irene, then back at Jimmy, and said, “Okay” 

As she walked past Jimmy, her phone buzzed. She took it out and saw a message from him that read, I’m sorry.] 

Madeline was puzzled, thinking, “What’s there to apologize for? Irene hasn’t really done anything bad to

As she reached the door, she looked back and saw Irene abandoning her suitcase and rushing into Jimmy’s arms. 

Jimmy’s expression was stiff, but he didn’t push her away. 

The door slammed shut. 

Jimmy averted his gaze, exhaled, and patted Irene on the shoulder. “Alright, Irene, I promised your father I’d be his successor and your support. 1 won’t let you down”
