Chapter 27
Celeste took a deep breath and conceded, “If Mr. Reed doesn’t accept that mason, we can opt for an afternative one, for instance, discrepancy in personality, absence of marital affection, or a breakdown in the relationship. You can choose one”
Liam looked up. “Breakdown in the relationship, and you still bring me lunch? Celeste, that reason is even less convincing?”
Celeste “Mr Reed, that lunch was.”
“Oh, and the private photo Liam opened his phone and waved it in front of her On the screen was a large photo she had just taken at the entrance of Quantum Enterprises with the help of the receptionist downstairs.
She knew that Liam wouldn’t let her come upstairs unless she sent him something juicy, so she took off her coat, wearing only a tight white off-shoulder dress, took a close up shot, and sent it to Liam, asking if she could post it on Facebook.
In reality, she was threatening Liam that if he didn’t let her in, she would post the photo on Facebook, damaging Quanturn Enterprises image and making him embarrassed.
She never expected to Liam that her tactic would be twisted into sending him private photos!
“Mr. Reed, that doesn’t count as a private photo…”
Liam ignored her words and commented on the photo, “Indeed, it doesn’t. I remember your bust size is only an A, right?”
Celeste was furious. She was a D, okay?!
She gritted her teeth and said, “Mr. Reed, can we discuss something more serious, like when we’re going to get a divorce?”
Liam glanced at her, ‘Celeste, I gave you a chance, but you didn’t show up.”
“I had something to do that day…
“What was it?”
Celeste pursed her lips, not wanting to tell Liam about her mother’s critical condition.
Since he couldn’t be her support, she didn’t want to show him her vulnerability. Maybe even if she told him, it would just be seen as an excuse to postpone the divorce.
She was silent for a few seconds before speaking again, “We can schedule another appointment, and you can choose the time. I’ll be available.”
Liam stared at her for a few seconds, then said indifferently, “I feel obliged to remind you that after the divorce, everything you have as Mrs. Reed will cease to exist. The new jewelry and clothing from brand merchants every quarter, the limited edition Hermes bags, and your favorite holiday gift boxes. Even so, do you still want to get a divorce?”
With each item Liam mentioned, Celeste’s heart ached a little more. She really couldn’t bear to part with those things. But thinking about it, staying with Liam in a tomb of mutual disgust for decades just for the sake of these things would be too horrifying.
