Celeste didn’t have a receipt. The ring was bought by Liam, so the receipt was with him, of course

“Officer, is the person who reported the theft named Liam?”

The officer looked at her in surprise, “you stote from someone you knew?”

Celeste’s mouth twitched, gritting her teeth, “He’s my husband?”

“What’s your proof?”

For the first time, Celeste felt it was hard to communicate with the police the decided not to say more and called Liam directly

Liam seemed to know what had happened, as he hung up without asking any questions.

Celeste became more certain that Liam did it on purpose

In fact, Celeste was just in a hurry when she saw Trisha in trouble. If she had calmed down and thought about it, she would have realized that a theft case involving millions wouldn’t be handled casually at a local police station.

As soon as Liam entered, Celeste pulled him over, “Officer, this is the person who reported the theft, and he’s my husband”

The officer looked at Liam, then at Celeste, “He’s your husband, but you don’t live together?”

Celeste didn’t know how to answer.

Liam, however, seemed to be enjoying the show, raising his eyebrows, “You should explain.”

Celeste glared at him, holding back for a moment before saying, “We had a fight recently, so I moved out and stayed with my friend. The ring is mine, and I took it with me. My friend is not a thief.”

The officer frowned, “You two had a fight, so you reported someone else?”

With tears in her eyes, Trisha asked, “Will you come back?”

Celeste held her hand tightly. “Wait for my call. Then she added, “I’m sorry.”

Downstairs, Liam stared at the time.

Thirteen minutes passed, and Celeste finally appeared.

She opened the car door, got in, and sat down, not wasting any time.

Liam glanced at her, “You’re three minutes late.”

Celeste finally let out the anger she’d been holding back for a long time: “Liam, what’s it to anyone else about what’s going on between us? Why did you call the police?”

Liam was really pissed off by her questioning tone and said coldly: “Why don’t you ask your so-called good friend what she did?”
