Chapter 29
Elizabeth thought to herself, You are scaring grandpa now!
It’s just a small injury. So what if Samuel, such a big man, gets injured? He deserves it!>
“Steven, how about the contract?” Elizabeth could only change the subject, afraid that he would really call Grandpa Tomas to complain.
“Samuel, Elizabeth called me. I’ll go first and we can talk later!” Upon hearing the contract, Steven realized that there might be an opportunity, so he left quickly, refusing to have any connection with Samuel.
Samuel was speechless.
Even this boy had been won over by Elizabeth?
He really couldn’t understand Elizabeth bringing a man here, especially seeing her protecting him. Samuel felt as if
a thorn was planted in his heart. “Steven, I’ll give you ten seconds!”
His imposing presence was truly daunting.
Steven had been afraid of Samuel since he was a child, so he didn’t dare not to listen to him.
“Elizabeth, I’ll leave the contract for you to read first. Tomorrow… Tomorrow I’ll come back and find you.”
Steven didn’t give Elizabeth a chance to reply and quickly left Beverly Hills with Hugo. It was exactly ten seconds!
He was really scared! Samuel was so terrifying. He had to go home and find his mom.
Elizabeth was tired from the day before and it was good that she had used Samuel’s words to drive away Steven, the jinx.
She went to bed, knowing that she had important things to do the next day.
That night was peaceful and nothing happened.
In order to have the free breakfast here, Elizabeth got up half an hour earlier than yesterday, but Maria, the domestic worker, was preparing for it. This meant that she had to have breakfast together with Samuel, who woke up half an hour later.
Four years ago, she made every effort to create various opportunities to be with Samuel. But four years later, she just wanted to avoid him. Unfortunately, fate always did the opposite.
Elizabeth received the script from the crew last night and printed it out in the form of a file which she carried with her all the time. She would take it out and read it whenever she had time.
What Samuel saw when he went downstairs was such a quiet and beautiful scene, Elizabeth was sitting in front of the floor–to–ceiling window holding a document. The sunlight refracted through the glass, making the outline of her

facial features clear and gentle.
He had never seen her this calm before, so absorbed in herself, so serene, like a young lady raised in a deep boudoir, every move radiating elegance and luxury.
Suddenly Samuel remembered four years ago, when she was also this calm, but then it was more humble, unlike now, which exuded confidence. It was very attractive.
Of course, his appreciation was only a momentary thing, as Maria broke the tranquility of the moment.
“Mr. York, you are up. The breakfast is ready.”
“Okay,” Samuel responded in a deep voice.
Hearing this, Elizabeth quickly put away the documents in her hand, ran to the dining room and sat down ahead of
him.
Her speed wrinkled Samuel’s brow. Was the calm woman just now an illusion?
She really showed her true colors with every word and action.
A turkey could never become an eagle.
Ha!
“Maria, I want two more omelets, a portion of ham and a sandwich. Thank you!”
As soon as Samuel entered the dining room, he heard her giving orders for so much food. Did this woman turn into a cow after four years? Then he saw her directly put the omelet into her mouth, and his eyes widened in surprise. He couldn’t believe it.
“Okay, Miss Jones, enjoy your meal. I will go prepare them for you.”
Samuel hummed unkindly, really disliking her wolfing down the food like that, and lost his appetite for a moment.
He was about to turn and leave when he heard Ira running over to report something.
“Mr. York, Miss Dodson is here!”
Cough.
Elizabeth choked upon hearing the name.
Did she have to deal with this lovey–dovey couple every morning? How could she have breakfast?
“And Mr. Tomas York is here too,” Ira said cautiously, as Samuel didn’t look pleasant today.
