My Stand-In Groom Is A Secret Tycoon (Audrey) novel Chapter 19

Audrey had just taken a hit, her head snapping slightly to the side as she tasted blood on her tongue, a fiery sensation spreading through her cheeks. She clenched her teeth, holding back the tears that threatened to spill, and shot a cold glare at Albert.

Albert, with his condescending attitude, stared her down, his expression grave as he scolded, "Audrey! Are you seriously this intolerant? What did Eliza do to you?"

Even though it was office hours, people were milling around the pantry, and everyone was taken aback by the slap Albert had just delivered.

The office buzz had already been alive with the gossip about the Rhodes family's daughters. They figured Audrey's standing in the company could take a hit, but they definitely didn't expect Albert to be this harsh.

Throughout the whole ordeal, Audrey remained silent, showing neither anger nor disappointment—just a chilling stare directed at Albert.

After the impulsive slap, Albert felt a twinge of regret. Yet, looking into Audrey's eyes reminded him of the past, which only fueled his irritation as he snapped, "You think you can glare at me? Do you think I hit you for no reason?

"You splashed hot coffee on Eliza today. Who's to say you won't do worse tomorrow? Just go apologize to Eliza."

Audrey scoffed and stayed quiet, refusing to engage.

At that moment, Eliza chimed in sweetly, "Dad, it's okay, Audrey didn't mean it." With a warm smile, she added, "I get that she has some pent-up anger. If a little coffee splash helps her feel better, I don't mind taking it on the chin."

On one side stood the cold and aloof Audrey, while on the other was the sweet and understanding Eliza. The scales tipped in Albert's mind as he pointed a finger at Audrey and lamented, "Look at you! I'm really disappointed, Audrey!
