My Substitute CEO Bride (Nash Calicraft) novel Chapter 1061

Chapter 1061

Irvine considered looking for the government but then realized that

Walter had close ties with the governor and met up with him.

frequently. What could Irvine use to compete with Walter?

“Mr. Watson, please go ahead,” Irvine said slowly. He sat back down

in his office chair, looking as if he had aged ten years in an instant.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, he looked up at Walter and

asked, “Mr. Watson, may I ask you a question?”

“Feel free to ask,” Walter replied.

“What’s Nash’s relationship with Baroque?” Irvine inquired.

“Don’t you know?” Walter stared at Irvine with a knowing smile.

“I… I’m not certain,” Irvine admitted. He had only taken control of

Innovate Collective less than a month ago, and he had been on

several business trips since. He did not have much time to look into

Baroque.

“Mr. Calcraft is the son-in-law of the chairman of Baroque,” Walter

explained succinctly.

“Then why do you regard Nash so highly?” Irvine followed up. This

question also aroused the curiosity of the other businessmen

present, and they all perked up to hear the answer.

“I won’t explain further. I’ll just tell you one thing-even the governor

would lower himself before Mr. Calcraft,” Walter said and then turned

to look through his contacts.

20

billion was not a small sum, but it would not hurt the Watson family. He did not plan on having Nash repay the money. Instead, he planned on getting a professional organization to reevaluate Innovate Collective. Any savings would be welcomed.

Irvine sat in his chair, stunned. Walter’s last words continued to echo

in his ears. The meaning of his sentence weighed a ton.

Businessmen did not compete with officials. Even a powerhouse like

Walter, who was the richest man in Jonford, had to network with the

governor regularly. Yet, that young man from earlier could make the

leader of Jonford humble himself.

It showed just how powerful that young man was.

“Hey, Son, convene a family meeting immediately. Starting today, don’t provoke anyone named Calcraft, especially if they’re young. There’s no need to ask for a reason. Ask again and I’ll break your

legs.”

Some clever individuals had already begun calling their family members. Even if they were not from Jonford, who knew if Nash would show up in their area one day?

The children of the rich all had quite the tempers. They might end up like Irvine if they messed with the wrong person.

The rest of the businessmen woke up as if from a dream. One by one, they took out their phones to call their families. In the office, only

Irvine and his secretary remained.

The secretary’s eyes were red with tears as she asked, “Mr. March, is this really the end of the company?”

Irvine sighed deeply. “You’re still young. If you venture into business

in the future, remember to keep a low profile. Many times, one wrong

word can lead you into a deep abyss.”
