Just as he leaned in for a kiss, Sydney started coughing and spat in his face. 

Sydney had been wracked by coughs the past few days, coughing up phlegm at the slightest provocation. Under normal circumstances, she would never perform such a lowly act, but she could not care less now. 

The phlegm smeared across Eugene’s mouth was utterly disgusting, prompting him to slap Sydney across the face before grimly wiping his mouth. 

“Take them away… Once we’re at the hotel, I’ll make them pay.” Eugene seethed with uncontainable rage. The bodyguards moved in. 

Just then, the sound of car horns pierced the air. Looking up, they saw an endless convoy of black sedans slowly approaching. There were more than 200 vehicles, each spaced about four to five meters apart. 

They stretched over a kilometer just based on the gaps between them. Including the cars themselves, the convoy extended over two kilometers. 

“It’s Hera!” Yasmin was thrilled. These cars belonged to Dragon Tiger Hall, and their leader only answered to Hera. 

Eugene was stupefied. “Hera… Lewis?” His face turned pale as he looked at Yasmin, his voice trembling. “What’s your relationship with her?” 

Recently, headquarters had sent several emails cautioning them, the Jonford branch, against provoking Hera Lewis of Baroque. 

Every time the patriarch convened a board meeting, he cautioned them repeatedly that should they encounter Hera, they were to take a detour. 

With a slap mark still evident on her face, Sydney let out a cold sneer. “Southern Heavens 

Pharmaceutical belongs to Hera!” 

Eugene’s complexion turned ghostly pale as if he had been struck by thunder. As he surveyed his surroundings, he saw a sight to behold–a beautiful woman clad in an enchanting black long dress, her long hair flowing freely. 

She was flanked by several imposing figures, making a grand entrance. The sight alone sent Eugene into a quivering mess, his legs shaking so violently he nearly fell to his knees. 

Even the bodyguards behind him sensed the impending doom. The formidable Xeno Hun from Dragon Tiger Hall, backed by a cohort of 180 burly men, methodically encircled them.

Hera quieldy made her way to the forefront where Yasmin and the others were. The moment. she spotted the slap mark on Sydney’s face, a glint of frost flashed through her eyes. “Who did this to you?” 

Overwhelmed by her emotions, Sydney rushed into Hera’s embrace, tears streaming down her face, “H1–Hera…‘ 

Eyes tinged red, Hera gently soothed her while coaxing softly, “Don’t cry. I’ll make sure the one who hurts you pay.” 

Feeling somewhat better, Sydney stepped back from Hera’s embrace and pointed an accusing finger at Eugene. “He was the one who hit me!” 

Without a moment’s hesitation, Hera delivered a resounding slap. The force was such that her own hand tingled with numbness. 

Head bowed in submission, Eugene stammered, “Ms. Lewis, I’m deeply sorry. I was unaware that Southern Heavens Pharmaceutical was under your aegis.” 

Despite Hera standing at only 1.75 meters tall in her eight–centimeter heels and being significantly dwarfed by the 1.9–meter–tall Eugene, she was undeterred. Frustrated by the height difference, she delivered another slap. “Do you expect me to look up to you?” 

Eugene fell to his knees, blood already dripping from the corners of his mouth and nostrils. 

Hera turned to look at Sydney. “You give him exactly what he gave you!” 

Sydney’s eyes flashed with a cold light as she stepped forward and delivered two resounding slaps to Eugene’s face.
