Seeing his father approach, David quickly stood up to greet him.

Nash glanced over and noticed the man's resemblance to Marius. However, he appeared to be in his 50s and seemed to be in better physical condition.

"This is my younger brother, Cade. He has been protecting me all these years," Marius introduced.

Cade entered the courtyard, his eyes landing on Theo before shifting to Nash. Smiling, he asked Marius, "Brother, who are these young men?"

Before Cade could respond, David introduced them, "This is Theo Skye, the eldest son of the Skye family from Jonford. The other man is Nash Calcraft, a descendant of the Young family."

Cade's expression darkened, taking on an edge of cold. "I didn't expect there to be any survivors."

“Cade, how can you speak like that?" Marius shot.

Cade coldly replied, "They caused our family's ruin, yet you're still speaking on their behalf?"

He rarely contradicted his elder brother but personally held a deep grudge on this matter.

"Shut up!" Marius thundered, shooting to his feet in anger.

Cade snorted. Clasping his hands behind his back, he made his way toward the thatched cottage. David shot Nash a hostile glance before following him inside.

Marius' face was full of embarrassment. "Nash, please don't take it to heart. My brother has a temper."

Nash smiled slightly. "It's alright. He spoke the truth."
