Beau looked troubled, not knowing how to begin.
Clint noticed Beau's unease but did not think much of it. After all, coming from a prominent family in the South Territory, how could his brother possibly have come to any harm?
Following his master and the elders, Clint walked through the gates of the Melton Mansion.
As he entered, he tried to recall his father's appearance. Did he have a beard? Did he wear glasses? Clint could not remember. It had been too long since he last saw his parents.
The first floor of the Melton Mansion could hardly be called a living room. It was grandly decorated and spacious enough to accommodate nearly 2,000 people. It could easily be mistaken for a luxurious banquet hall.
Clint's master, Amell Casimir, who was usually stern, entered the room with a hearty laugh.
"Hahaha! Reggie, long time no see!"
"Hahaha, Father Casimir! I've been expecting you! Please have a seat!"
The speaker was a small, elderly man. His bald head showed traces of a surgical scar. He stroked his few remaining strands of hair, and his few teeth seemed to be barely holding on. Despite this, his laugh was hearty and genuine.
"That voice," Clint said, surprised but cautious. "It's the one from my memory!"
"Dad?" Clint asked incredulously.
"Hahaha, yes, it's me! Come here, Clint. Let your old man have a look at you!"
Reggie beckoned him forward. Clint instinctively looked at his master, who nodded in approval. Only then did Clint approach Reggie.
