The group continued forward.

The city was completely deserted, with only the eerie emptiness adding to the sense of foreboding.

"Everyone, be careful. Eyes are watching us from the shadows," Tilly observed sharply.

Suddenly, shadows began to converge around the four.

"Who are you?" one of the shadows asked.

"We're seeking vengeance. Where are the people who took the demon sword, Rain of the Village?" Alfius demanded.

With that, the group of ninjas sprang from the shadows, attacking the four.

"Everyone, lower your heads," Alfius instructed. Tilly and the two followers immediately ducked and covered their heads.

Alfius then drew his sword in one swift motion, slicing the ninjas in his line of sight into half with a single strike. They disappeared into a cloud of smoke.

Alfius touched the hilt of his sword. "Hmm? It contains Master Bjorn's will. No wonder it's extremely sharp. Your name is Centurio. I see. I look forward to working with you in the future."

He sheathed the sword. "They aren't humans."
