Chapter 49 

Shannon glanced at the girl, confused by her expression. Still, she nodded. 

“You don’t know? At noon, your sister crippled Jack in the cafeteria. She fractured Alexis hand too. They say that Jack is in the hospital and that the doctors said his leg is irreparable.” 

shannon was stunned. Indeed, she did not know about that, 

A faint smile appeared on her face, but she hid it so well that no one noticed,

With her head lowered, she let out a small sigh. “She’s been brought up in a village since she was a child. She’d always skip school and get into fights. She’s not the easiest p to be around. Given her temper, there’s no telling what kind of big trouble she’ll get herself into.” 

Shannon was certain Lily would pay a price for offending Jack despite having Lold to back her up 

Jack’s family held a high social status as well. She doubted Loid would clash with the Dalton family for a fiancée he hadn’t known for long. Once Loid started to resent Lily, Shannon would get her chance. 

A short–haired girl patted Shannon’s shoulder, “Quit worrying about her. It doesn’t seem like she treats you as her sister. Why cause yourself unnecessary distress?” 

“That’s right. Since she offended Jack, it won’t end well for her. It’s a good thing for her to be taught a lesson. She should also be aware that you’re the one who’s the Martinez family’s heir,” another girl advised her. 

Shannon looked down and said softly, “Don’t say that. After all, she’s still my sister.” 

After school, Lily gave Anya her personal phone number. She also told Anya to call her if she needed anything 

Anya merely nodded and didn’t say anything else. 

Lily knew that even if anything happened, Anya wouldn’t call her. So, she approached lan. 

“Help me out.” It didn’t seem like she was asking for help at all, considering her brash attitude. 

Regardless, tan was excited. “As long as it’s within my capacity, I’ll gladly help you.”

Lily had reproved tan at noon. Since then, he had been telling down. For the entire afternoon, Lily had not spoken a word to him, so he assumed she was fed up with him. He never imagined she would ask him for help. 

“Do you know anyone in the dorms? Lily asked casually. 

All students enjoyed forming cliques. It was especially true for those at Ember Creek. Though tan couldn’t beat jack, he still had his connections. 

Lan nodded. “YA.” 

“Help me keep an eye on Anya. If anyone gives her trouble, tell me.” Lily gave tan her phone number. 

Lan nodded enthusiastically, “You’ve got it!‘ 

After a beat, he asked, “By the way, why are you so nice to Anya? This is the first time you’ve met, right? Why are you so eager to protect her?” 

Lily flashed a smile. “Take a guess.” 

Her smile was as brilliant as the sun. It was breathtakingly beautiful.
