My Sugar and Your Spice (Amelia and Leo) novel Chapter 265

Chapter 265

"Why are you acting so mysterious?" Jodie shook her head, ignoring Melissa's solemn tone.

Melissa's youthful face darkened. "Did you push someone during the shoot? Did you try to kill someone?"

"Mom, you..." Jodie had never expected her to ask about that. She was so shocked that she forgot about the tears rolling down her cheeks. Jodie, with red eyes, stared at Melissa as she held a crumpled tissue in her hand.

She had been so secretive about what she did that not even Leo knew about it. How did Melissa find out?

Melissa's heart sank when she saw the look on Jodie's face; it meant that her guess was most likely right.

"How can you be so foolish?" She angrily twisted Jodie's arm and pushed her down. "How can you do something like that while cameras are rolling? Are you afraid that your reputation has not been ruined enough? Thankfully, I know the director, and he deleted the footage when he saw it."

In fact, Melissa also found out about it from the director.

However, he had spoken so tactfully that his only request was for Melissa to have a proper talk with Jodie.

"Don't you know that it's murder? If Foxy decides to take you to court, it's not just your reputation that will suffer; you will go to prison! Can you think before you act?"

Jodie had been seething at how painful her arm was when she heard Melissa say she might be imprisoned. Her face immediately went pale.

She had only been thinking about venting her anger. She did not think any further than that.

She might be Leo's sister, but if she caused too much trouble, not even he could protect her. Her anger immediately turned to fear

as her hands began to tremble. The crumpled piece of paper in her hand slipped out and rolled on the bed.

She did not have the time to think about it though. Her voice trembled as she grabbed Melissa's sleeve. "Save me, Mom!"

Melissa sighed when she saw Jodie cowering and trembling in fear.

"Jojo, I'm not against you scheming to get what you want, but you cannot ever let anyone catch you red-handed. If the director hadn't been on our side this time, we would be in trouble."

Her words finally made Jodie realize how foolish she had been.

Jodie was still seething in anger, though. When she heard that the director had to help her and that it was impossible for Foxy to take her to court, she gritted her teeth.

"In the end, it's all Foxy's fault! She's so shameless. She leads Leo on while constantly flirting with Blakey. I was so angry that I just did it."

She absolutely hated Foxy.

"Oh, you." Melissa sighed again when she saw how little control Jodie had over her temper.

Though Jodie was still very young, she was much more immature than Melissa was back then.

"Oh, that's right. Is this Foxy that influencer?" Melissa asked as if a thought suddenly struck her.

She rarely watched variety shows. She had planned to watch the episode Jodie was featured in, but after the phone call from the director, she felt so ashamed that she was not in the mood to watch it.

Hence, she did not know who was who in the show.

Jodie's constant mention of Foxy excited her.

"That's right." Jodie bit her lip and nodded. "She makes herself sound so mysterious. She wouldn't even show her face. Maybe she's afraid of people finding out she's just very ugly."

The more Jodie spoke, the more certain she was of that assumption. She began to scheme to one day take off Foxy's mask and reveal her ugly face to the whole world.

Perhaps, she would be so ugly that all of her fans would immediately unfollow her.

Melissa did not care if Foxy was ugly. At that moment, she was lost in her own thoughts.

Then, a realization struck Jodie, and she tugged at Melissa's arm. "Did you know, Mom? Foxy is a vicious woman. Not even Elyse, the woman who keeps bothering Leo, can compare to her. Just one move from Foxy and Elyse's reputation is ruined. Not only that, but she also used that to gain 50 million fans. She's such a schemer!"

Melissa had recently been following Foxy. Naturally, she heard all about that.

What an amazing woman Foxy was.

Melissa might place a lot of importance on a person's family background, but a woman with 100 million fans was akin to a rich family as well.

Foxy was definitely good enough for her son.

If Leo truly liked Foxy, then she should try and befriend Foxy to push them together. She would then be able to use Foxy to raise her own position in this family.

Her inability to speak to Leo as an equal had always been something that bothered her.

Obviously, Jodie did not know of Melissa's thoughts, so she continued to badmouth Foxy. "She escaped this time, but just wait. She will regret it one day." She huffed. The fantasy of exposing Foxy's ugly face and the sight of her miserable dejection finally cheered her up.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Leo initially planned to leave as soon as he had dropped Jodie off.

He just so happened to glance at the television.
