Simon looked at her. Her words were piercing, and he could not refute what she said. ‘I’ve divulged so much because of her question; she could at least show me some gratitude!’ ‘Why must they back me into a corner?’

Simon got up; his eyes reddened as he wanted to say something to Nicole.
