My Wife Is So Sweet (Natalia Dawson) novel Chapter 897

Chapter 897 He Who Watched the Watchers

Queeny didn't sleep on her own.

Karida slept in the same room as Queeny, while the four men kept an eye on her at the entrance.

Queeny gave a wry smile at the close guard.

How could she possibly break out?

She sighed and closed her eyes.

The night in the countryside was so still that the only sound in the vicinity was the occasional chirps of insects.

Karida was soon asleep, breathing regularly.

The men's rumbling snores could be heard through the door.

Though worn out, Queeny lay sleepless at this time.

A question occurred to her.

Ramon was with her when she escaped from the villa.

But she only saw Karida when she woke up in the truck.

Where had Ramon gone?

Although she harbored some fear for Ramon and decided that he was treacherous, Queeny thought his presence might add to the chance of her escaping here. After all, she was familiar with him from their previous contacts.

With that, she frowned slightly.

Just then, there was a very faint whoosh from outside the window opposite to Queeny's bed.

Queeny froze for a second. Turning to the window instinctively, she caught a glimpse of a dark shadow flashing by.

Queeny's expression changed.

She looked to Karida by her side, who was fast asleep and totally unconscious of what had just happened.

A sense of misgiving overtook Queeny.

It was a blessing if the shadow was someone on Felix's side, but what if it wasn't?

Anyway, either was better than being stuck with the current gang.

So thinking, Queeny remained silent instead of warning the men.

At this time, however, a puff of smell sneaked in through the door crack.

Detecting the odd smell, Queeny frowned, then widened her eyes when she realized what it was.

It was narcotizing smoke!

The mysterious shadow was not Felix's man!

However, Queeny had already taken in too much of the smoke to take any action.

She saw Karida go limp and heard the four men drop to the ground.

Clenching her teeth and holding her breath, Queeny struggled to stay conscious.

But the smoke was so potent that she finally passed out.

On waking up, Queeny found herself in a very strange room.

Surrounded by four bare walls with a gloss of grey metal, the room was empty but for a solid iron bed.

On this very bed lay Queeny, blindfolded by a thin piece of cloth that enabled her to see vaguely the light dangling overhead.

Where was she?

She wondered in half consciousness.

Lifting her arms slightly, she heard a rattling of iron chains.

Queeny's heart sank.

A further struggle convinced her that she had been confined to the iron bed by two long iron chains.

A sudden chill ran down her spine.

Just then, there came a clumping sound made by boots walking on the floor.

Seized by surprise and fear, Queeny asked instinctively, "Who is it?"
