Mysterious Mr.Richard novel Chapter 34

Pearl was very familiar with that voice. She did not have to look up in the mirror and knew who it was.  

Evelina was still wearing a doctor's white coat in the play, holding her arms and staring at Pearl. She scoffed, "If I hadn't met Mr. Zellweger today, I would have almost believed it."    

Pearl frowned, "Believed what?"

"Stop being acting," Evelina said with sharp eyes. "Don't rely on your look to think that you can seduce any man. Don't forget that you have two children. You are the shame of our family. A man like Richard would definitely not like you.

Evelina's comments were so cruel,  making her clench her fists, "Evelina, why were you so rude? Who taught you that?"   

Her sister was silent since childhood. She was still in high school when she left. Her personality hadn't changed so much that she almost couldn't recognize her.

"What does it have to do with you? The truth is always unpleasant," Evelina looked at her disdainfully. "Richard's fiancee is Adriana. I remembered that you and Adriana are best friends. No wonder you knew him..."

Evelina was insinuating that Pearl was cheating on her best friend.

"It's not like that." Pearl's face darkened. 

"So what is it?"

"It has nothing to do with you." Pearl didn't want to mention more about the past. Moreover, Evelina obviously has no good intentions for her and Richard.

"Nothing to do with me? You're ashamed of what you did, so you didn't dare to say it? I can't believe that you'll cheat on your best friend. Pearl,  I really underestimated you before. Luckily, the Yonng family kicked you out before you did something worse."      

Evelina's sarcastic words pained Pearl, brought her a lot of suffering. While, Pearl never showed it. 

Because of Evelina's sarcasm, a sullen look flashed in Pearl's quiet eyes. She put down her arm and stood up straight, "is that enough?"

She was taller than Evelina. When she stood closer, Evelina could feel the intimidation coming from her

Evelina involuntarily took a small step back, "what do you want?"

Pearl stared at her coldly, "Listen, my relationship with Richard has nothing to do with you.  but since you know that he is going to get married, you should keep your distance. You keep talking about the Yonng family's reputation,  and you're the daughter of the Yonng family and a celebrity, it's better for you to take care of yourself than to tease me here."    

Evelina was choked.

"You're the shameless one to try to flirt with a man who has a fiancee. If Dad knew this, you'll be kicked out of the Yonng family too, right?"

"You're threatening me?" Evelina's face changed and she siad in anger, "How dare you..."

"Behave yourself." Pearl glanced at her with cold eyes before walking past her. As Pearl passed Evelina, a burst of cold wind lifted Evelina's white coat, making her shiver for no reason.

Evelina came to her senses until Pearl walked away. She realized that something was wrong. Pearl threatened her to tell their father but she had no evidence. Moreover, Evelina did nothing!

Was she tricked ?

Thinking of this, Evelina's face darkened.

Pearl was a really bad moman! She had not changed at all.

After returning to the set, Pearl immediately packed up her things and prepared to go home. She didn't see Richard on the set, which relieved her. Then she said goodbye to a staff member and left.

It was evening when she came out of the hospital. It was difficult to find a taxi because it was in the suburb. She waited on the roadside for a long time and there was no taxi. She had to turned on the navigation on her phone and went to the nearest bus stop.

The nearest bus stop on the map was nearly three kilometers away from the set. It took Pearl almost half an hour to get there. It was getting dark when he got to the station.
