Pearl went back home with Priscillia's gifts, After she left Dr. Wale's house.

Bonny loved meat the best. Her eyes lit up when she saw the roast beef. She put down the pizza and followed after Pearl, waiting for her to heat the beef.

Pearl received a phone call from Ethan when the two children were eating.

Pearl answered the call and walked into the living room. "Hey? What's up?"

"I'm just checking to see if you're feeling better." Ethan replied.

"Sort of." Pearl stretched her injured arm, "I don't have to go to the hospital after this, and I can just change the bandage at home. In a few days, it'll probably heal."

"How about your work? Did the hospital allow you return to work?"

"Not yet." Pearl was a little worried about that, too. She sat down on the sofa and leaned against it. "But I met Dr. Wale today, and he said he'll figure it out."

"Dr. Wale is too outspoken. Two years ago, I met him at an international academic exchange. I don't think he can solve it."

"What? Dr. Simpson is Dr. Wale's student, so he should be willing to compromise."

"That depends on if no one stands in his way."

Pearl was puzzled. "What do you mean?" 

"Are you getting more stupid after returning back?" Ethan moced her, "Think about it. You started out as a normal doctor. You took care of your patients, but all of a sudden, the patient's family misunderstood you. Then rumors started spreading like wildfire, and you were suspended. After that, you became a medical expert on set, and now you're injured. Don't you think that everything sounds a little suspicious?"                                                             

"Do you think that someone is pulling strings behind my back?" Pearl frowned.

"You finally got it?"

"I didn't provoke anyone, so who would do this to me?"

"This world is not that beautiful, you know. Are you sure no one would do this to you? Your colleagues might be jealous of you for being young and promising. Also, you have rivals in your love life. All of them don't want you to stay in Kityall City." 

Ethan's words made Pearl's heart sink.

The hospital paid her high salary to return to Kityall City. She was young and promising, so she would stand a huge chance to get a promotion. Thus, she would be her colleagues' biggest rival.    

Yet, that was definitely not a solid reason for them to frame her like that.

As for her rivals in love life, she could name a few who did not want her to stay in Kityall City. Adriana, Evelina, and Richard's mother.

Pearl analysed, "It shouldn't be Mrs. Zellweger. Before I was suspended, she had no idea about I was back."

"Who do you think would do it, between your sister and Adriana?"

"How did Mrs. Zellweger know that I came back?" Pearl was deep in her thoughts.

As far as she knew, after Richard took over Zellweger Group, Mrs. Zellweger retired and didn't interfere any more. It was impossible for Mrs. Zellweger to keep an eye on her.

So how did she know?

"It wasn't Evelina." Pearl breathed deeply and exhaled slowly. "Adriana did it."

Suddenly, she understood something.

Richard questioned Pearl sbout she showed Mrs. Zellweger evidence that Adriana abused the maid. He assumed that Pearl was trying to wreck his marriage, but where did he get the photos?

Mrs. Zellweger was not that bored to keep an eye on her future daughter-in-law and the maid. Besides, Mrs. Zellweger would not care about the evidence at all.
