Manuel was trying to contain his fury, aiming to coax out Angels information about Selina first, but her words had left him. stunned. “What… What did you say?

Selina couldn’t be bothered to argue with Manuel anymore, so she left him with that and took off. Manuel was left standing 

there. 

When he finally wanted to track down Selina, she was nowhere to be seen. 

“Selina is Angel… Are you kidding me? Angel burst onto the scene years ago when Selina was still underage! She was just a middle–school dropout from the countryside. How could she possibly be the world–famed jewelry designer Angel?” 

Manuel had a million reasons to convince himself that Selina was not Angel. This must have been a lie, a ruse concocted by Selina to fool him. How could his idol, the one he dreamed of meeting, turn out to be his sister who backstabbed her brother and was an ungrateful traitor! 

But then, considering Selina’s design, Shackled Hearts, and that unmistakable, unique Angel style no one else could emulate. Manuel’s heart started racing uncontrollably. If there was even the slightest chance Selina was Angel… Manuel realized he might have crushed his own faith with his bare hands! 

Selina left the seaside bar, barely avoiding a collision with a stumbling Caleb, who looked severely injured. 

Tydia is a freaking psychopath!” Caleb blurted out as soon as he saw Selina. 

“Who are you calling a psychopath? A guy like you can’t even handle a few punches from me, and you still have the nerve to say that 

Lydia trailed behind Caleb, maintaining her pace with an innocently dangerous smile on her face. 

In front of Lydia, Caleb was about to lose his soul from fear, and he bolted at breakneck speed. 

“At least you run fast. Lydia scoffed coolly and then walked over to Selina. “Selina, how did it go?” 

“I told Manuel that I am Angel.” 

“To be honest, I regret dealing with Manuel’s flunkies. I’d much rather have been there to see the look on Manuel’s face when you told him.” 

It had to be said that Selina was true to form: direct and unmasking herself without hesitation. Manuel had been so desperate to meet Angel that he was even willing to beg at Selina’s feet Learning this truth must have completely demolished Manuel’s worldview.

A detached voice cut through the air. Trevon walked up opposite Malcolm, pulled out a chair, and sat down, meeting Malcolm’s piercing gaze with a composed and unfathomable look of his own. 

Malcolm’s voice carried a note of chill, “Mr. Brady, you s 

have a knack for timing”

“Thanks for the compliment, Mr. Weher. I’ve heard about your work from Selina, thank you for representing her.” 

“Selina” 

Malcolm hit down sharply on his teeth, “Is Mr. Brady in any poison to call her that? Selina’s only contractually married to 

Mr. Brady, as I recall.” 

“Contract marriage it might be, but Selina and I are in the phase of munal understanding during our period of courtship. Does Mr. Weber, as her senior brother, think it’s okay to bulldoze her right to love, assuming that you can dictate her freedom? Surely you’re not that despotic and unreasonable?” 

Trevon had a hunch about Malcolm’s reason for their sudden meet–up that afternoon, he probably wanted to put Trevon in his place. But Trevon took the offensive, turning the tables on Malcolm with a preemptive strike. 

Selina belonged to Trevon. She was the woman Trevon swore to cherish and protect for a lifetime, and he wouldn’t back down or bow to anyone on that. 

Tm despotic and unreasonable? Do you have any idea how much unnecessary trouble and harm being Trevon’s wife could bring Selina? 

“I have confidence in both Selina and myself. She’ll handle what she can, and I’ll help her with what she can’t. If the sky falls, I’ll be there to hold it up. Mr. Weber, don’t you have any faith in Selina’s abilities?” 

Malcolm’s temper flared instantly, and he picked up a coffee cup from the table, tossing its contents at Trevon. The attack was abrupt, but Trevon managed to dodge at the last second. 

Next, Malcolm aimed a kick at him, which Trevon, with narrowed eyes, blocked perfectly with his hands. Using the movement to his advantage, Trevon seized the chance to land a punch on Malcolm. 

Trevon was no stranger to combat. Even before Selina had entered into a contractual marriage with Trevon, Malcolm had known of Trevon’s reputation and had thoroughly investigated. As the youngest powerhouse of the Brady family, Trevon’s combat skills were definitely on par with special forces operatives! 

The clash between the two didn’t result in any advantage for either side, but it did succeed in scattering the nearby musicians and audience. 

Eventually, it was Malcolm who stopped first. “Not bad moves, you pass.” 

Trevon, ever composed, straightened his tie and replied, “Much appreciated, Mr. Weber 

“I’ve not seen your full potential, but to be Selina’s boyfriend, you’d better be more than just a brain with no brawn. That simply wouldn’t cut it for Selina.” 

Malcolm tossed a chair Trevon’s way, which Trevon caught and sat on deftly, “Tip leaving Clusia tomorrow, Trevon. And even if Selina does fall for you, don’t think for a second that you can whisk her away so easily. After the lessons we’ve learned with the Harvey family, we won’t stand idly by regarding Selina’s happiness.” 

“Selina warned me about this. Don’t worry, Mr. Weber. When Selina and I seal the deal, I promise to pass whatever tests her friends have in store for me, no matter how difficult.” 

“Well” Malcolm turned on his heels to face the hotel manager rushing over with a team of security guards, ready to write a substantial check as compensation. But instead, the manager went straight to Trevon, asking nervously, “Mr. Brady, are you alright? 

“Mr. Weber, you may leave. I’ll handle this.” 

Stunned, Malcolm hadn’t expected even this hotel, with no apparent ties to the Brady family, to fall under Trevon’s influence. It seemed Trevon was more than he appeared. Malcolm bit back a reply and walked away.

Selina’s lips curled into a smile as she approached Trevor’s window, leaning in slightly. “Honey, if I go back in your car, what about the Lamborghini I left here?” 

Trevon nonchalantly replied, “We have plenty in the garage, take your pick. You haven’t even hit the road with the Bugatti Veyron 1 gave you yet.” 

Selina played with the Lamborghini key fobs and pouted, “That car’s too flashy, I only want to drive it in races. Plus, this Lamborghini is different, it was a gift from Lydia, and I don’t want to lose it.” 

“No big deal. Trevon said, and after a quick phone call, a hotel agendant came out, respectfully took the keys from Selina, and assured her the car would be safely driven back to the Brady manor. 

Once Selina was in the car, Trevon tenderly rubbed her hands, “Did you enjoy yourself tonight?” 

“It was okay, except for some party poopers… But what about you? How did it go with Malcolm?” 

Trevon was taken aback for a moment but then a grin formed on his face, “Nothing gets past my wife’s keen eyes.” 

“Malcolm is hot–headed but dotes on me, he isn’t unreasonable, just a bit strict… Hmm, better you get used to it sooner, the ugly duckling has to meet the relatives eventually, right?
