Chapter 163
Lauren scoffed disdainfully while Viola parted her lips, initially wanting to say something nice about Selina. In her opinion. Selina wasn’t as bad as Lauren made her out to be. However, after a moment’s hesitation, she decided against it. Due to Lauren’s temper, any defense of Selina would lead to an argument, which wasn’t worth the trouble.
“Viola, keep trying! I don’t believe Selina can keep turning us down. If she dares refuse again, fil go to her personally! Hmph!” Silas fumed as he was unable to confront Trevon directly. He knew Trevon couldn’t keep covering for Selina if she kept declining his offer, and he grew curious about how long Selina could keep this up
Viola sighed inwardly. With Silas‘ persistence, she could do nothing but comply. Hence, she sent a message to Selina: [Don’t stand us up again.] Viola thought, ‘Couldn’t she at least give me a heads–up if she was going to bail? Did she think I would spill the beans or something? How could she leave me sitting there like a fool?”
Selina replied: [I’m sorry, Viola. Next time, I’ll treat you to the best place myself!] After sending the message, Selina nestled in Trevon’s arms, raising her eyebrows like a triumphant victor. “Done.”
Trevon stroked her hair, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “Honey, you always manage to surprise me. I bet the Hudson family is furious right now. Aren’t you worried my mom will hold a grudge against you?”
“Viola’s not that petty. She understands my personality. In a way, we’re alike. This is just my way of putting the Hudson family in their place. What? Am I not allowed to fight back when they mess with me? That’s ridiculous,” Selina said. If not for Trevon’s sake, her counterattack wouldn’t have been so mild.
“Honey, I’m sorry. You’re only dealing with all this trouble because you’re married to me. It’s unfair to you.” Trevon knew Selina could handle it herself. If she couldn’t, he’d step in. However, it pained him that she had to lift a finger at all.
“Darling, everyone says you’re cold and ruthless. I’m sure the Hudson family thinks so too. But I know better. If you were truly that heartless, the Hudson family wouldn’t be living so comfortably right now,” Selina said. A gem like Trevon, with his ties to the Hudson family, would be a goldmine for them to exploit. Naturally, Trevon was aware of it, but he turned a blind eye. If it were anyone else, he would’ve crushed them already.
“You know me best, Honey. I do have my limits. I’m not one to turn on my own blood. They’ve been good to me, and they have not been the kind of relatives that make me hate them to the core.” It was rare for Trevon to sigh in front of Selina. After all, he was just a human with feelings. He could be ruthless in business, striking with precision and leaving no room for mercy. However, he had his weaknesses. What didn’t bother Trevon before had now become his Achilles‘ heel. And now Selina was his biggest weak spot.
“Don’t worry, Darling. As long as I’m around, I’ll handle them for you. It’s a good way to kill time, you know? Now, smile for me. I don’t like it when you’re all gloomy. Remember, I get to mess around as I please, but you’re my whole world. Even if the sky crumbles down, you’ll hold it up for me, right?”
Selina tugged at Trevon’s cheeks, finally coaxing a smile out of him. He playfully pinched her nose. “Having such a thoughtful wife like you is truly a blessing.”
Selina pouted. “You’re only realizing that now? Shouldn’t you have felt blessed the moment we got married?”
“So… Honey, just how many identities are you hiding from me? Trevon’s tone sounded casual, but there was a serious undertone. Initially, he thought Selina was simply the top hacker on the Dark Web, code–named “Charm,” which intrigued him. However, now, he realized she had multiple identities. She was Angel, a world–renowned jewelry designer, and Flying Shadow, an international racing champion. Trevon wondered how many more secrets she was keeping. Just thinking about it made him excited.
Selina smirked. “Take a guess.”
“I can’t. So, I’ll wait and see what other surprises you have in store for me,” Trevon said.
“Well, you just wait, Darling. With me by your side, you’ll never be bored again,” Selina replied cheekily

Chapter 163
Days passed in the blink of an eye. Finally, Selina responded to Viola’s message. She previously apologized for the sudden cancellation and made up for it by booking the best restaurant in Sokovis to host a dinner, inviting the Hudson family to join her and make amends. Viola had been in constant contact with Selina under Silas‘ orders. She simply passed along Selina’s responses without much thought.

This time, though, it wasn’t just any dinner but one hosted personally by Selina. When Viola informed Silas, he immediately decided they should go. “We’re going! I want to see what tricks Selina has up her sleeve this time! Viola, tell her that if she tries any funny business, I won’t let it slide!” Lauren and Yasmin also insisted on going along, confident with Silas‘ support. As for their husbands, they showed little interest, figuring their wives could handle it.
Their nonchalance only infuriated the women. Their daughters had been driven out of Sokovis because of Selina, and these men didn’t care to fight back. No wonder the Hudson family was in decline, unable to compete with the main branch. If it weren’t for their connection to Trevon, they wouldn’t be living so comfortably. Ignoring their useless husbands, the four members of the Hudson family arrived on time at the booked restaurant.
Oceanview Restaurant of Sokovis was known for its top–tier luxury, catering exclusively to the elite. Getting a reservation was tough, and regular people had to book months in advance. Booking the entire restaurant for an event was almost unheard of. Selina could only manage to do so because Oceanview Restaurant was owned by the Talley family, whose son, Edwin, was a good friend of Trevon. With that connection, booking the restaurant was no trouble. Edwin, dressed in a stylish white outfit, approached Selina with a smile. “Everything’s ready, Selina.”
“Okay.” Selina crossed her arms, her eyes gleaming with a cold glint as she thought, “This is my turf, filled with my people. Who is this banquet really for? Haha!‘
When Silas and the others arrived at Oceanview Restaurant, they were naturally stunned. They’d heard of its reputation and had dined there before. However, to have the entire restaurant reserved just for them was beyond expectation. “Hmph, Selina must be really good at using people. She couldn’t have possibly booked Oceanview Restaurant herself and must have relied on Trevon as always! She’s a vixen living off a man!” Lauren spat.
