Maddie’s teeth were practically clacking. The more she thought about what her husband had told her about Selina’s connections, the less it made sense. Trevon Bradly–super young head honch of the Brady family and the big boss of Insight Group. Now, sering Trevon Brady himself, Maddie couldn’t wrapher head around the idea of the Bradly family even giving the name of day to Selina, a nobody from Nowheresville. She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Is this Treven guy a fake!‘ 

Theron walked over to Selina and casually dropped a hand on her shoulder. His voice was low and cut like a knife, “Honey, did she give you a hard

“You got it” Trevon shot Maddie a chilly look. “Mrs. Thompson, sorry about what happened to your kid. But do me a favor, tell Mr. Thompson that Insight Group might rethink the partnership we got going on the amusement park deal with the Thompson Group.” 

“What!! Mr. Brady, you’ve always bern level–headed, putting the business first. How can you bail like this Partnering up with the Thompson Group’s been a beg goal for hosight Group Maddie stammered, thrown for a loop 

“You’re a bit confused, Mrs. Thompson.” Trevon’s lips twisted in a half–smale, “Insight Group’s not the one begging–Thompson Group’s been the one aller us from the get–go. We always call the slits. If it makes money, we’re in. And let me tell you, folks are lining up to work with us. We’re not sweating Josing the Thompson Grosija” 

Maddie was floored. She’d heard from her husband about the amusement park gig–ballions in the mix, with a chance to rake in way more. Even splating the dough with Insight Group meant a mega payday for any big company. But now, because she’d targeted Selina, that fat check might vanish. She couldn’t Lier thinking about her husband’s reaction. The Thompson Group had hanked everything on this, and the contract with Insight Group was pretty much ready to roll. This last–minute flip–flop meant scrambling for new partners–wasting time and cash–and odds were slim they’d snag a catch as big as lusight Group again. “Mr. Brady, there’s been a big mix–up, I swear. I was just freaked out about my boy. Don’t hold alge, please… 

Madilic’s tone shifted big time, going from bossy to practically begging, and Selina couldn’t help but snicker at the change. 

Maddie was mortified when she heard Selina’s snarky laugh, but she knew she needed to grovel if she wanted to save the deal with Insight Group “Selina, I’m sorry, okay? With those words, Treyem and Selina del Marlie gaping, unable to stop them or turn things around. Realizing the mess she’d made, Maddie gritted her teeth so light, she nearly cracked them. Locked in panic mode, she spun to the cops, her voice cracking “I don’t believe it! I need to see the proof myself! That hitch caused my Caleb’s tradit Dig up the evidence! Everybody else just gave a big eye roll. They were totally over this bossy, fancy lady. She messed up, picking fights and blowing a big deal, and now she was trying to take it out on them. It sucked. 

On the car back home, Trevon was lounging, nonchalantly straightening his crisp black pants, with Selina sitting nearby. With a glance and those ley–charm lips, he said, “Caught a peek at the security tapes earlier. Did you do a little cutting and pasting?” 

Selina was taken aback and looked at Trevon, She’d edited the footage so well hardly anyone could tell she hadn’t counted on Trevon, who’d only tagged along and watched the video once, to spot the tweak. This guy was seriously sharp. 

When Selina got called out, she didn’t bother hiding the truth. “I got into the security cams and messed with the video. Made it show me spreding but I didn’t crash. It was Caleb who floored it and then wrecked. Just bad luck for him.” 

Selma had been careful during the high–speed chase with Caleb, keeping a safe gap between then–small enough not to notice at a glance, bat enough to prove she wasn’t responsible. She had a backup plan from the second Caleb started trying to show her up. 

“That was pretty smooth. Trevon sail, giving her props. “Breaking into a camera system? That takes some real skills and nerve. But spilling the beans like that? Kinda thought you’d play dumb” 

“Look, Trevon Selina shot back, “you’re not just anybody. Instead of getting busted by you and looking stupid, I figured I’d just fes up.” She might not know Tervons inside and out, but counting two lifetimes, aside from being a total sucker for family, which made her blind to her own family’s shady side, her gut feeling about people was usually right on the money, And Trevon, the youngest dude in charge of the Brady family and the most mysterious bigwig around Sokols, definitely had some tricks up his sleeve. 

Selina was sure Trevon had been snooping around her past. She was Charm, a top–shelf hacker, and hiding her tracks was a piece of cake for her. Even though she knew her skills were solid, she was still a little worried about Trevon’s investigation. Of course, Charm wasn’t known as the Dark
