Chapter 77
“Missed you, Selina tapped gently on the back of Trevon’s hand as it rested on her shoulder, her voice tender and soft, “What about you? Did you think of me during your hectic workday, honey?”
“Of course. Trevon replied, “but honey…you say you miss me but don’t swing by the office to check in on me. It makes me think you’re fibbing.”
“Well, I was busy keeping Nora company, wasn’t I?”
“Keeping Nora company is more important than satisfying your husband?”
Nora could only stand there in silence. It struck Nora like a bolt from the blue, frazzling her to the core. It wasn’t just the shock of being force–fed a mouthful of their lovey–dovey talk without warning. The real kicker was that the one doling out the sweetness was her own brother–Trevon.
Nora knew Trevon cherished Selina, but she would never have believed in a million–years that such cheesy lines could come from her brother, who was known to be cold and distant, especially around women! Geez, the thought alone was giving her the heebie–jeebies!
While Nora was still in a daze, Trevon had already whisked Seling away towards the mansion, leaving Nora feeling like she was stuck in a loop of forgetfulness. “Am I adopted?” she mumbled to herself, over and over again.
During dinner, Trevon was the model of tenderness and attention, peeling lobster for Selina and filling her plate with abalone and other delicacies, until her dish was piled high. “Honey, you’re too skinny. Eat more meat. That’s what makes you beautiful
There sat Nora, nibbling on her veggies while watching Trevon play feeder. Before she couldn’t stand it anymore, she cried out, “Trevon, I want some lobster tool Never had she seen Trevon baby Nora like this.
Trevon didn’t even glance her way. “What’s the matter, Can’t handle it yourself?”
Nora pouted. “Trevon, you are my real brother, aren’t you? Do you have any idea how much your words hurt your little sister?” This was taking “forget your sister when you have a wife to a whole new level.
“Here, Nora, try this. I peeled it just for you.” Selina handed a peeled lobster to Nora.
Nora stuck her tongue out at Trevon, “Selina’s the best, not like some heartless brother of mine, so there!”
“Don’t spoil her too much or she might never learn to stand on her own two feet, Trevon called out.
“Alright, alright, honey, here, this is your share. You’ve got it all. Selina said as she soothed his jealousy by preparing a piece for Trevon, and his mood visibly brightened.
A man prone to jealousy is often the easiest to please.
As the night deepened, Nora wasn’t ready to head home. She had hogged Selina all day long and was insisting on crashing at Trevon’s place to sleep over with Selina, but Trevon was having none of it Grabbing her, he threw her out of the mansion and instructed the driver to take Nora back home. He thought. The little girl had monopolized my wife for the entire day and now she wants more? In your dreams!
Locked in the car, Nora brushed her messy bangs aside and said, Trevon, I know you’re possessive, but since you found me such an awesome–sister–in–law, treat her right, will ya?”
She’s my wife. If I don’t treat her well, who will? I don’t need a reminder from you, kiddo.”
Nora flipped Treyon the bird and was reluctantly whisked away
Chapter 77
When Trevon returned to the mansion, Selina was casually leaning against the wall, her stunning pale profile curving slightly as she looked over. “Actually, if Nora wants to stay, you should’ve just let her. She is your sister, after all”
I won’t allow it. She’s had you to herself long enough. She even wanted to share a bed with you tonight. Dream on. Trevon retorted.
Approaching Selina, Trevon tenderly brushed a few loose strands of hair behind her ear and said with a tinge of jealousy, “Even I haven’t shared a bed with you yet, my wife”
“Have you forgotten that our marriage is just a contract? You’re quite serious, honey” Selina teased.
“Yeah, and I’m getting more hooked on this relationship by the minute. What am I to do, honey?” Trevon confessed, hinting at his uncontrollable affection for her, the likes of which he’d never felt for another woman before.
Selina met Trevon’s gaze calmly. She knew all too well the effect she had on him, and with a tone that oozed ease, she presented her doubts. “Even knowing that I’m a hot mess with unresolved issues, that I can’t be the supportive spouse you might need, and might even pull you back in your endeavors?”
“Honey. I’ve never cared about that stuff. What I care about… is only what matters to me,” Trevon declared, his feelings growing stronger–a fact he couldn’t hide. After all, when Trevon sets his sights on a woman, he couldn’t care less about anyone else’s opinion
Massaging Selina’s strands of hair between his fingers as if sending a signal, the temperature between the two rose with every breath they took, hormone charged.
Selina tilted her head, her smile lingering. Then, when the time is right, should we start dating for real?”
