Never Again Yours (Isadora and Magnus) novel Chapter 436

Isadora melted into his embrace, feeling the strength in Victor's arms and breathing in the unmistakable scent of him. She reached out, toying playfully with his charcoal-gray tie, her voice taking on a rare hint of girlishness. "Then you have to be good to me."

Victor gazed down at her, his eyes fixed unwaveringly on her face, their depths so dark and intense they could drown a person. His voice was gravelly and magnetic, low like velvet over stone. "Haven't I been good enough to you already?"

Leaning lazily against his chest, Isadora listened to the powerful rhythm of his heartbeat. She smiled, dimples blooming on her cheeks like wildflowers at the height of summer.

"You have to be really good. Always. I want your eyes and your heart only for me. You can't make me angry. You're not allowed to tease me, or—"

Before she could finish, Victor gently tipped her chin up with his hand.

He bent down, capturing her lips in a kiss that silenced the rest of her demands.

Above them, the night sky was scattered with a thousand glittering stars, each one shining like a tiny diamond. The flowerbeds on the lawn swayed gently in the evening breeze, which played with the soft strands of Isadora's hair.

Bathed in moonlight, their figures blurred into a single, romantic silhouette, as if time itself had paused to frame this perfect moment.

Somewhere in the distance, someone couldn't resist pulling out their phone to capture the dreamy scene.

After a long moment, Victor finally pulled away, his eyes shining with emotion as deep as a midnight lake. Love seemed to spill from him as he murmured, "I love you, Isadora."

Isadora froze, her eyes shimmering with reflected starlight. That unexpected confession struck her like a bolt of lightning.

Her heart raced so fiercely it left her breathless, her eyes stinging with sudden warmth. Rising onto her toes, she threw her arms around him, burying her face in his neck. Her voice was raw, a whisper against his skin. "You have to love me forever."

Victor's eyes sparkled with laughter as he pressed a gentle kiss to the crown of her head. "Always, sweetheart. Forever."

She clung to him tightly, and feeling her fierce attachment, his gaze softened further. "If I ever break my vow, may I—"

Isadora quickly pressed her hand over his mouth. "Don't say that. I won't let you."

He pulled her hand away, locking eyes with her, searching the depths of her clear gaze. "Don't worry. I won't break my promise. I never could."

A mist of tears blurred Isadora's vision, her nose tingling with emotion. "Even if… one day you stopped loving me, I still wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you."
