The Walsh family was paralyzed with terror, their faces drained of all color.
No one could have imagined that a simple gathering would end like this. Someone had actually gotten hurt—right here, in their own home.
How could they possibly calm Victor's fury now?
Olivia forced herself to look composed, though her eyes were red-rimmed. She shot a furious glare at Sally and Leda, who were both collapsed on the floor.
Useless, both of them.
Kemp's expression was grim as he issued a curt order. "Pull up every security camera in the Walsh estate. No one leaves until we get to the bottom of this."

The hospital was cold and sterile.
Finley, dressed in his white doctor's coat, rushed down the hall with several senior specialists trailing behind him. They'd all heard the news and hurried to the emergency room.
Inside, Isadora lay motionless on the hospital bed, eyes closed.
Finley's brow furrowed deeply. "What's the patient's status?"
Several doctors stood nearby, their faces tense. One quickly stepped forward to answer.
"She's pregnant, but her body temperature has dropped dangerously low due to severe exposure to cold. Her condition is critical. We need to bring her temperature up immediately or both she and the baby are at serious risk."
Victor stood at Isadora's bedside, bloodshot eyes locked on her face. He gripped her hand so tightly his knuckles turned white. His voice was hoarse, almost pleading. "Help me. Save her."
Victor—proud, powerful Victor—had never begged for anything in his life.
In all the years Finley had known him, he'd never heard Victor sound like this before.
The words hit Finley hard. He looked up at Victor, who stood frozen at the edge of the bed, his body rigid with tension. Victor's long lashes cast shadows over his eyes, concealing whatever storm was brewing inside, but the air around him was heavy with despair.

The readers' comments on the novel: Never Again Yours (Isadora and Magnus)
It takes too long to get to the point. Too much unnecessary in between in all of these books. Too many extra characters, the authors lose the plot after a while....
