James said, “I’ve asked Ms. Sophie. Her injuries are severe. It’s not a good idea for her to get involved. She wanted me to first investigate whether or not there is a Quasi-Emperor guarding the bodhi tree. If there is, we’ll call this off. If there isn’t, we can take action.”
Hearing that, Henrik became troubled. He got to his feet, paced around nearby, and said, “Investigate? How can we investigate? Our capabilities are limited. Investigating the Labhrann Clan will be extremely challenging.”
Qusai started to ponder as well. After some thought, he was suddenly struck by inspiration. He said, “Mr. Caden, you can ask Brielle. You’re going to marry her soon, so you can use this opportunity to ask her about the Labhrann Clan.”
Henrik lit up as well and said, “Right. Why didn’t I think about that?”
James nodded softly and said, “That’s our only option now. However, I can’t go to Brielle first. I have to wait for her to come to me.”
The three gathered and planned how they would steal the Labhrann Clan’s bodhi tree and remove it from its roots.
After their discussion, James stayed there for the time being.
This stay lasted several days. During this time, Brielle did not show up.
After three days, Brielle showed up. She came to James’ lodging and found James.
Brielle was in a green dress in the courtyard. Her long hair was pulled back. She appeared indescribably elegant.
“Mister Caden,” she said softly, a shy look on her face.
“Mhm.” James nodded softly and sat on a chair in the courtyard. “Oh, right. When will we go back to the Mortal Dimension?” James took the initiative to ask.
“Huh?” Brielle looked at James and asked, “Go back to the Mortal Dimension? Why would we go back? This is the Divine Dimension. It is the highest plane of existence. Its Spiritual Energy is countless times more potent than in the Mortal Dimension. Numerous living things are vying with one another to enter the Divine Dimension.”
“The bodhi tree was one of them. During the Primordial Age, the ancestor of the Labhrann Clan was the Lord of the Demon Realm. They were also the most powerful cultivator in the Demon Realm. They located the bodhi tree in the vast universe and planted it in the Mortal Dimension of the Demon Realm.”
James was listening intently.
As he listened up until this point, he could not help but ask, “The bodhi tree is so amazing. Isn’t the Labhran Clan worried that it will be stolen?”
Brielle said with a smile, “The Labhrann Clan is among the top rank in the Demon Realm. Who would dare to steal it? Furthermore, while the bodhi tree is amazing, it is not a complete Spiritual Root. So, it is useless to some extremely powerful cultivators. Those cultivators have no reason to offend the Labhrann Clan for the sake of the bodhi tree.”
“Could it be that extremely powerful cultivators are standing guard near the bodhi tree?”
The pivotal question was posed by James.
