James was not expecting Brielle to appear out of the blue.
Thea looked at James and smiled mischievously. Then, she said, “I-I still have other things to do. I’ll take my leave first.”
After speaking, she stood up and left.
“Thea…”
James stood up and wanted to chase after her but was held back by Brielle.
Brielle tugged James’ arm and asked coldly, “Where’s the bodhi tree?”
“Let me explain, Brielle.” James looked at Brielle troubledly.
Brielle let go of James, crossed her hands, and stared coldly at James.
James said solemnly, “You already know the situation on Earth and the trials humans are going through right now. I didn’t steal the bodhi tree for myself but for the sake of humanity. I want to help humans rise up quickly.”
“Th-The bodhi tree is crucial for my clan’s survival in the Demon Realm.”
Brielle glared at James and said, “No matter your purpose, I hope you’ll return it to my clan.”
James said lightly, “Honestly, the bodhi tree is useless to me. I’ve never consumed its fruit. If it weren’t for the sake of humanity, I wouldn’t have bothered going through the effort of stealing it. I won’t return it. Either you capture me back to the Demon Realm or let this matter go.”
James acted unreasonably.
“You…”
Brielle was infuriated.
James had stolen the bodhi tree but was trying to justify himself.
She took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down.
It was useless for her to say anything since it had already been done.
She was no match against James with her current strength, so it was impossible for her to capture James back to the Demon Realm.
“I have a question for you. Do you acknowledge me as your wife?”
