Julia furrowed her brows. She was unwilling but did not want to resist Elisa's exhortation. She could not bring herself to decline her granddaughter's request.
Elisa smiled softly. "Be a good girl, Grandma. Otherwise, I'll not visit you anymore."
"I'm always a good girl, but this checkup is unimportant. Look at me – I'm in the pink of health!" As much as Julia would like to listen to Elisa, the reluctance in her words was unconcealable.
Elisa answered, "Let's go together then. I'll be with you throughout the entire checkup, alright?"
Gareth stood silently at the side while gazing at Elisa. He had pondered upon it while on the way here. He was worried sick about Julia's situation but did not understand why Elisa would say such words.
"But I don't feel like going…" Unlike when she rejected Gareth resolutely, Julia started behaving like a child in front of Elisa.
Usually, Elisa would have burst into laughter. But now, she was so worried about Julia that she was not amused.
Squeezing a smile, she held Julia's hand and cooed, "Let's go and get yourself checked by the doctor. We can chat on the way there. I'll stay by your side."
Gareth still did not speak up; he knew Elisa had a way of convincing Julia.
Finally, Julia sighed in resignation and hummed, "Alright, alright."
Despite being resistant, she chose to listen to Elisa.
"Okay, we can leave after you get changed." Elisa maintained a sweet smile and behaved as usual.
