Mr. Carrerra laughed in a low voice as he denied it. "I wasn't trying to provoke you. I was just kidding. We've met a few times. Do you have to be so serious, Ms. Benett?"
Elisa didn't think he was joking.
She frowned and asked, "Did you cause the car accident?"
But Mr. Carrerra immediately turned solemn. "Ms. Benett, you're protected by KKCD Casino's boss. You're in the country and on Gareth's territory. I don't have the nerve to challenge these two heavyweights."
He turned it back on Elisa, but his intention was clear.
It wasn't him.
But Elisa pondered about the person behind the scenes.
It's not Mr. Carrerra. Can it be… Nicole and Irene?
Elisa felt that the two were suspicious.
She restrained her thoughts and said indifferently, "It better not be you. I don't care if you're kidding or if it's for real. I advise you to stop while you can."
Her last sentence was a warning toward Mr. Carrerra.
Just as he was about to retort, Elisa hung up.
When Mr. Carrerra heard the dial tone on the phone, the corners of his mouth split into a deep smile.
He swirled the glass in his hands as the red liquid in it sloshed around.
He nodded at his subordinate. "Is everything arranged? If it is, I'll leave now."
Initially, he decided to leave for Elisa's city tomorrow, but the call immediately changed his mind.
It was better to deal with certain things earlier.
His subordinate before him answered, "Mr. Carrerra, everything is prepared and in order."
"Okay."
Mr. Carrerra finished the red wine in his glass in one go before immediately rising.
A smile could be seen on his face.
He was determined to win.
…
On Nicole's end.
She was at a spa in a wellness center.
It was most important for women to take care of themselves, what more with her identity as the Tabor family's daughter.
Just as she was comfortably enjoying everything, she received a call.
Nicole looked at the number and answered the call.
A girlish voice rang in her ears.
"Didn't you agree to stick to the plan? Why are you doing all this ahead of time? Are you trying to die?!"
Even though it was a girlish voice, its disdain, and coldness were particularly distinct.
Nicole retorted indifferently, "We had a plan, but you and your boss are taking your own sweet time! With my plan, death will pay all scores."
