Previously, Gareth said he would not be attending the banquet. Since he changed his mind and decided to go, Elisa believed he had a plan that needed her assistance.
However, Gareth denied, "Must I need a plan to go? Can't my reason for going simply be because I wish to court you?"
Elisa was rendered speechless.
She realized Gareth's recent words frequently left her stumped.
Court me? Isn't this…
She shook her head and sighed. "Gareth, if others hear you, those who know nothing might think that the imposing president of Wickam Group has turned submissive to a woman."
"I don't mind being submissive to you if we remarry."
Elisa stared at Gareth with a stunned expression upon hearing him.
She was sure she did not mishear. Those words came out of his mouth.
Furthermore, Gareth was standing right before her.
Still, Elisa found his words hard to believe. "Gareth, are you serious? Are you willing to make such a big sacrifice for Grandma?"
Gareth was rendered speechless.
I talked about this before. In fact, I brought it up a few times. Did none of my words get through to her?
Despite feeling frustrated, Gareth still controlled his expression before Elisa.
He asked, "Elisa, do you think I want to marry you because of Grandma?"
Elisa did not reply but furrowed her brow.
Her expression seemed to ask, "Of course, what other reason is there?"
What he said to Will was primarily due to male ego.
It might also be because of Grandma. He must have thought I could make her happy. Furthermore, he probably thought we could get married since we recently got along.
Elisa considered various reasons but refused to believe that Gareth could have feelings for her.
It did not matter that he told her about it and confessed his feelings for her. Elisa did not believe him.
Her reaction was a blow to his pride. For a moment, he felt anger and frustration surging within him.
Gareth remained firm. "I won't give up. I will never allow you to be with that disabled Will!"
Even if Will were not at risk of being disabled, Gareth still would never let Elisa be with him. With how much Marsha disliked Elisa, he feared she would suffer if she were to marry Will.
On the other hand, everyone in Gareth's family approved of him remarrying Elisa.
Elisa was angered by his words and argued fiercely, "Gareth, how could you mock Will that way? The doctors and I saved both of his legs. The only concern left is that he might develop complications. Furthermore, Will never said a bad word about you when I was with him."
