She was tired after having to act a role before others.
Suddenly, she understood why Gareth had behaved coldly with her in the past. It was because he detested her. He did not bother to mask it as it was tiring to pretend to like someone.
"As I've said, I came here because of you. Since we have made some headways, you can stay here if you don't want to meet more people," Gareth said and sat beside Elisa.
Elisa ignored him.
Then, she said, "I will leave in half an hour."
"Sure, let's leave together."
Gareth insisted on following her.
The banquet was still ongoing, and the guests started dancing.
Linda's original plan was rendered useless because Elisa was always with Gareth.
She had no choice but to find somewhere to sit down.
Elisa happened to notice Linda at this moment.
She smiled cunningly when she discovered Linda alone.
Then, she got up and approached Linda immediately.
"Ms. Garner."
Elisa's lips gradually curved into a smile as she initiated a greeting.
Although Linda was surprised by Elisa's appearance, she forced down her hatred and smiled at Elisa. "Mrs. Wickam, how may I help you?"
Elisa pulled a chair and sat before Linda. Her smile did not diminish at all. "Mrs. Garner mentioned you will join Garner Group to learn about the family's business. I think we can collaborate."
"Huh?"
Linda was stunned.
Why did Elisa make such a blatant offer?
Is she at risk of losing her position at Benett Corporation?
If Elisa's position is secure, she wouldn't have to rely on Gareth's reputation to meet and negotiate with those people.
Still, Linda remained sharp and alert as she faced Elisa. "Ms. Benett, I have no experience in business and will start from the lowest level in Garner Group. Since I don't know anything, how will I collaborate with you?"
"I don't know anything either. You gave me a good first impression, so I wish to be friends with you. Ms. Garner, do you mind giving me your WhatsApp contact details?"
Elisa knew Linda was wary of her.
However, she needed to execute her plan.
Otherwise, how could she pay back Linda for framing her?
"Oh? You want to be my friend?" Linda appeared surprised.
However, she became even more wary about Elisa in her mind. D*mn you, Elisa! What the heck are you up to this time?
