Before Bella could even start to scream, a perpetually icy hand covered her mouth, damp with traces of moisture.
"Shut up. Don't shout. I'm fine. I'm just too tired and want to lie down," Elisa said.
The corner of Bella's mouth twitched slightly, and for a moment, all the sadness turned into nothingness, leaving her feeling somewhat amused.
"What are you doing? It's raining, and you're lying on the ground. Get up quickly." Bella extended a hand. Elisa grabbed it and managed to stand up.
"Let's go. It's time to get down to business." Elisa's mood shifted rapidly, going from initially nonchalant to completely focused. The thought of what she had to face gave her a headache, but it was something she couldn't avoid.
Elisa was walking ahead, with Bella following behind.
The two of them entered the elevator, one after the other. Inside the elevator, Elisa seemed somewhat weary.
Bella asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Elisa shook her head. "It's just that there's a lot going on right now. Too many things weighing on my mind, that's all."
There was really nothing else on her mind.
Upon reaching the ground floor, there were still some onlookers who hadn't dispersed, probably waiting for something.
Elisa guessed that they were waiting for her, and indeed, that was the case.
As soon as Elisa appeared, someone shouted, "Look, everyone! That's Elisa."
There and then, everyone swarmed in, completely surrounding Elisa.
The security guard, belatedly realizing the situation, came over to maintain order while Bella instinctively moved to protect Elisa.
