Linda was particularly excited about the opportunity to work with him.
When Will mentioned a project that required her collaboration, Linda immediately turned her attention towards him and asked, "What project is it, Mr. Darcey?"
She looked at Will with a puzzled expression, unable to decipher his true intentions.
Seeing her curiosity piqued, Will replied softly, "Ms. Garner, you know about my current situation. I'm injured and need to use a wheelchair, which makes it difficult for me to move around. Initially, I didn't want to assign you the project in the Western Suburbs because I intended to give it to Elisa. However, considering Elisa's close relationship with Gareth, I understand that she and I can't be together. I can't remain single forever."
As Will spoke these words, Linda grasped his meaning, but found it hard to believe.
How could Will make such a request?
Without missing a beat, Will continued, "Given my current circumstances, no one is willing to get engaged to me. However, my leg injury is only temporary. My mother is pressuring me, and after careful consideration, I believe you are the best candidate. What do you think, Ms. Garner?"
While speaking, Will delicately sipped the coffee that Cole had brewed for him.
He knew Linda would agree, so he wasn't in a hurry.
Linda understood his intentions. The idea of pretending to be an engaged couple seemed quite appealing. For now, she could rely on Will's respected status in the Garner family to establish her position.
And the more time they spent together, the better chance she would have to solidify the arrangement by having a child and building a substantial relationship. This way, she could ensure that Will would remain committed to her.
"Mr. Darcey, since you need my assistance, I am more than willing to help. Furthermore, we can mutually benefit from this arrangement, and I can avoid being subjected to blind dates. Thank you for giving me this opportunity, Mr. Darcey." With that, Linda stood up and gratefully bowed to Will.
Observing her actions, Will naturally understood her thoughts. She wants to cling to me, huh? It won't be that easy, though.
