She pushed Vincent away, but she clutched the bouquet of roses he had given her tightly in her arms.
The roses were pink, her favorite color.
And, in the bag, there were her favorite treats. It seemed like Vincent had put a lot of effort into this.
"Think about it carefully. I'll come back tomorrow."
With that, Vincent turned and walked away.
Rachel looked at the items Vincent had given her, her emotions bittersweet. She didn't throw them away; after all, it was a heartfelt gesture from Vincent. But when she returned to the law firm with the bouquet of flowers, Sheena immediately noticed.
Sheena raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Is this a gift from Mr. Shane?"
Apart from Vincent, there were no other men around Rachel.
Rachel didn't deny it.
However, Sheena also noticed the melancholy on Rachel's face. She hesitated but still asked, "Have you and Vincent encountered any problems? You seem unhappy. Did your families object to your relationship?"
Rachel and Vincent had a love-hate relationship. If they were to succeed, it would be a great thing. But if they didn't, there had to be a reason behind it.
Yet, considering their personalities, such a minor issue shouldn't affect them this much.
"I don't need to say much about the family's objections between me and him, do I? Besides, we're not exactly a perfect match. Sheena, I'm genuinely lost right now. You need to help me figure out how to make Vincent give up for good and restore peace between us," Rachel said, sighing deeply.
Observing Linda and Will together, Marsha furrowed her brow, but the natural way they interacted spoke volumes.
"I asked you to handle those matters, and not a single one of them turned out the way I wanted. Will, don't assume I don't know that you two have made an arrangement," Marsha said.
Melinda, taken in as a daughter by the Garner family, was the type of woman they would consider for a strategic marriage.
It seemed unlikely that Melinda had chosen Will, the latter being someone who hadn't previously held her in high regard. There appeared to be more to the story than just love.
Linda found herself momentarily at a loss for words, keeping her head down and avoiding Marsha's gaze.
On the other hand, Will casually joined the conversation. "Isn't this what you wanted?"
